The Lions Charity has a good name lotally and requests to members of the public when collectlng funds are well received by the public who often seek us out in preferen to others. We also have a particularly good working relatior5ship with the local supermarkets who again are always happy to allow us space for collection on funds. We do not undertake any investment5 a5 our income is not enough to lustSfy this. However. any surplus funds are deposlted In a hlgher in interest 30-day account to try and 8enerate small addStional income. The charity's principal sources of funds (including any fundraising) Para 1.47 Investment policy and obiectwes including any social investment policy adopted. Para 148 An ageing membership makes it more difficult to ensure enough people are avallable to undertake collectlons to ralse money. Also, along with other CharSties we are finding that the rlsing cost of Ilving is making people reluctant to volunteer or join 8roups such as Clacton on Sea Lions ICIOI. Although we do have funds available in our 90.day deposit account and these will be used, If necessary, to ensure we are able to meet ?ny demands we are reluttant to transfer more than necessary to allow these to be available for as lon8 as Possible. The £3,000 reserne 15 held withln this account so funds will never be allowed to drop below that figure.
