The Romani Foundation (Help For Dependency) is dedicated lo helping Ihose
experiencing dependency or addiction, Ihpir family and friends - helping to beat
dependency and addiction by Improving their mentallemotional health and wellbeing.
By providing information and help lo better understand substance use, addictiva
disorders. dependcncy and addiclion. we hope that you will be able to make better
lifeslyle choices and get the iighl help.
The Romani Foundation oporales from Ihe founderslCEO's homeloffice and
comprises a CEO. PA and a Budrd of four Iruslees. Family members and close friends
voluniÈÈr their lime lo help and sUPPOrt the day lo day operalion ol The Romani
Foundation.
The FounderlCEO has supported the Charily linancially via charitable conlribulions
from her business enterprises and will conlinue lo do so.
Dudng 2023. The Rornani Foundation was successful in attaining Iwo micro- grants from The
Community Lollery Fund and The Give Bradford Fund lor two very different projects. Bolh
projects have also received contributions from our CEO
This grant was reccivcd in April 202J to facilitate the development ol a FREE online Service
via our Help for Dependency website that signposts children, youn9 people, adulls and their
lamilies and friends.
The information is accessed on a regional basis and covers the whole of the UK. Information
is nol only accessed via counlylarea but is further calegorised into the categories ol Alcohol.
Allernalive Therapies, Behavioral AddictlDn. Counselling. Drugs. Friends and Family,
Gambling. HomelesslHousinq, Ment31 Health, Online Support, Other, Recovery.Recovery
Groups, Resldential Rehab and Suicide Prevenlion.

The Romani Foundation has worked closely with its website providers to develop this onllne
provision. 11 has also Ènabled interactions with partners. visils to other charities and the
formulation of important connections wiihin the field of addiction/dependency and their

As part of the process The Romani Foundation has also been approached by some
inlefnalional charitable organisations who offer help and suppofl in the UK.

To facilitate the project The Romani Foundation engaged a fully qualified Art Psycholherapist
who has produced a six week prograin lo be delivered in conjunction with a local ¢harity for
approximately 12 Llienls. This will commence in February 2024.

Through its associalion with Give Bradford. The Romani Foundation has succeeded in
becomin9 more embedded in local community organisationlservices., which up lo this year
has proved difficult. Making some greal conneclions and fovndaiions io better work In the
local area with new partners.
BCB loeal radio also invited The Romani Foundation lo promote fts projects and charity
during its live community broadcast.

Initially, starting with the cannabis lesson plan,. work has commenced with one of our
partneis to simplify and updaie infoimalion for usc by teachers or The Romani Foundations
own voltjnteers for delivery lo young people either at school or via communily organisalions.
A PSHE Advisor has also been engaged to consult on the material prodvcod.

As parl of this process The Romani Foundation has forged a connection wrth 3 PTemier
league football club's community foundation to dÈlivÈr ihis Èducaiional material.
The Help for Dependency website and social media plalfomis continue to be a
great success and have enabled connections with a widè demographic as well forging
new relationships wilh organisalions in the dependencyladdiclion s@ctor.
The website is conlinually updated with new information and monitored on a monthly basis to
enable largeled information lo be relayed via the Help lor Dependency social media
laiiorms.
Social media continues lo bc an effective way of sharing informalion about all ditferenl
aspects of dependencyladdiclion, physical and emotiona5 wellbeing, diet and exercise Ètc.
As well as linking with a UK audience., we also now have a growing global following and
made ¢onne¢lions with other organisallons in our field.
The inleractive sharing of information of the lalesl newslresearch is essential lo helping
and supporting people make beller lifestyle choices around dependencyJaddi¢lion and
a$so¢ialed issues.
The website and social media platforms have enabSed us lo signposvdirecl an
increasing number of people lo help and support lor their substance use disorders,
other addictive behaviours and other Issues associated with dependencyladdiclion.

result of our inlervenlion.

dependency and th￿r associated issues., as well as support for friends and farnily.

The Arts Therapy project will be delivered in FebiuaryJMarch 2024. The oulcomes
will be published and shared. It's also hoped that The Romani Foundation can seek
additional funding for those in recovery lo produce pieces of art to be displayed as
part of Bradford Cily of Arts and Culture 2025.
New lesson plans will continue to be created to accompany the films we have already
produced on various types of drugs. understanding addiction and the law. The
lesson plans need lo be simplified and more usci Iricndly lor Icachcrs and
those wishing lo use them in an educational selling. To achievc Ihis we will be
engaging with same of Dijr partners 2nd PSHE Advisor,
The website Content will be rgviewed and exlended lo include new lopics as
necessilaled by the evor ¢hanging domographic of substance misuse and addictive
behaviours.
The Romani Foundalion will continue lo expand Ihe Board of Tivslpes so that
we can Increase our expertise in the field ol dependencyladdiclion. We would
also like lo appoint ambassadors with lived experience in different regions ol the UK
lo provide educational awareness of dependencyladéiction.
Likewise through the 'Power of Connects'ons. the organisalion will continue lo expand
links wlh other charities. L)USinesses and public services lo embed our work wilhin a
diverse range of communities.
