Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

BASE Chair Report October 2025

BASE has been much quieter this year with only one key booking. This is the result of changes to personnel at hiring organisations and the availability of funds from the Duke of Edinburgh Award to support organisations to purchase their own equipment. This has meant we have been able to service requests comfortably in the peak season. Changes at hiring organisations are a regular occurrence and BASE needs to be reactive and flexible to accommodate requests.

BASE has not replaced any equipment this year, though we do need to continue to monitor equipment as it ages and ensure we have the quality and quantity to meet demand, purchasing additional stock where required.

Volunteers and Trustees are the key to the success of the charity. The BASE Chairman would like to thank all the volunteers for their time and commitment, let’s keep working together to ensure we provide a service but at the same time make running BASE an enjoyable activity.
