BASE PROVIDES SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY GROUPS WITHIN THE BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL BOUNDARIES TO ACCESS THE OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT AND OUTDOOR EDUCATION BY OFFERING GROUPS ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE EQUIPMENT WHICH THEN ALLOWS YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE ABLE TO GO AND EXPERIENCE THE OUTDOORS. We are very grateful for the many hours the Trustees and volunteers have committed to BASE. Without this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not have been able to achieve so much.

Section D Achievements and performance
## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
BASE Chair Report
The volume of BASE bookings is nearly back to pre-pandemic levels with the peak in the summer period before the school holidays. However, some previous hirers are no longer running outdoor activities and consequently the number of organisations using the equipment is less.
BASE has adequate volume of stock to meet requests, but as the equipment ages it will have to monitor condition and ensure it has sufficient amounts and quality to meet demand.
The number of volunteers, the key to the success of the charity, remains stable.
The BASE Chairman would like to thank all the BASE Trustees and volunteers for your time and commitment. BASE will keep working together to ensure it provides a service whilst at the same time ensuring being involved with BASE is an enjoyable and rewarding activity.

BASE bank account balance on 31.10.2023 was £2265.44 in unrestricted funds. The main financial risk to the charity is loss of bookings from the schools/community groups/etc. The funds are held to cover costs incurred for when new equipment needs to be purchased or when old / broken equipment needs to be replaced.
