Ridgeway School PTA Chair’s Report for the Annual General Meeting Date: 19[th] May 2025 Presented by: Jennifer Casey
1. Introduction
Good evening everyone and thank you for joining us for this year’s Annual General Meeting. It has been a pleasure to serve as Chair of the PTA for the past year. I’m delighted to present this report outlining our activities, achievements, and the overall impact we’ve made together as a school community.
2. Overview of the Year
This year has been one of steady fundraising, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. Despite declining committee numbers, the PTA has remained active and committed to supporting both the students and staff of the Ridgeway CE Primary School.
3. Events and Fundraising Highlights
We’ve organized a wide range of events, both for fun and fundraising. Some of our key events this year included:
-
Easter Bingo 2024 – raised £450 and was well-attended by families.
-
Summer Fun Run – raised £1180 a fantastic evening despite low attendance numbers *
-
Autumn Disco and Break the Rules Day – raised £390 and received good feedback.
-
Christmas Raffle & Christmas cards raised £1140
In total, we raised £3,180 which is a tremendous achievement. These funds have gone directly back into the school to support various initiatives.
4. What We Funded
Thanks to your generosity and participation, we were able to contribute to:
-
Transport for Swimming Lessons
-
Transport contributions for class trips and annual pantomime trip.
-
Glockenspiels
-
Room Divider
-
Forest School for Robins class
5. Communication and Engagement
We’ve made a conscious effort to improve communication this year, duplicating correspondence across the parents WhatsApp, School text service and School generated emails to parents informed and involved. Engagement from parents has been steadily declining and this will need to be address over the coming 12 months if the PTA is to continue to operate.
6. Acknowledgments
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to:
-
The PTA committee members for their hard work and dedication
-
All the volunteers who gave their time so generously
-
School staff, especially Mrs Blockley, for their continued support
-
And of course, all the parents and carers who attended events, donated, and contributed in many ways.
7. Looking Ahead
As we look toward the next school year, we hope to build on our successes and try new initiatives. We welcome fresh ideas and new faces—so please consider joining us!
8. Conclusion
Thank you once again for your support. It has been an honour to serve as Chair this year, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the coming year.
Sincerely, Jennifer Casey Chair, RSPTA
*£1000 cash from fun run wasn’t banked until August (i.e after the end of the PTA financial year. The official fundraising total in the accounts for this year will be lower.
