LICHFIELD OPERATIC SOCIETY {CIOI FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 ANNUAL REPORT (continued) Trustees are elected on an annual basis with the Annual General Meeting being generally held in Spring The Society is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The governing document is a constitution dated 21 October 2018 and it was registered with the Charity Commission on 4 January 2019, registered charity number 1181417. Objects of the organisation to promote plays, drama, comedies, operas, operettas and other dramatic and operatic works of educative value,. to purchase, acquire and obtain interests in the copyright of or the right to perform or show any such dramatic or operatic works- to purchase or otherwise acquire plant, machinery, furniture, fittings, scenery and all other effects,. to raise funds and invite and receive contributions from any person or persons by way of subscription, donation or otherwise, provided that the society shall not undertake any permanent trading activities in raising funds,. to do all such things as shall further the objects of the Society. bl dl Members and non-performinE members are required to pay an annual substription. The rates for 2024 were as follows.. Performing members Non-performing members Students £30 £20 £20 In addition, a show fee per show is payable, during this year the show fee for Calendar Girls was performed in July 2024 and wa5 £90. Revlew of progress and achievements The Society was established as a Charity in 1943 and converted to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in January 2019. Lichfield Operatic society performed Calendar Girls at The Garrick in July 2024. The show was well received, earning glowing reviews and has subsequently been nominated for two NODA awards. Financially this show made a surplus of £8,269. The Society continues to attract new members and has further productions in the pipeline to further achieve their ongoing objectives and remain financially stable.

Free reseNes at 31 December 2024 totalled £74,743. This falls within the range agreed by the Trustees The Charity's principal bankers are HSBC Plc, Lichfield. The independent examiner is M Gurney of Dains Audit Ltd, Chartered Accountants, Lichfield Rlsk review The Trustees have examined the major internal and external risks which the Charity faces and confirm that systems have been established to minimise these risks. Public Benefit The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Charity's aims and objective5 and have complied with their duties under the Charities Act 2011. The accounts have been prepared in aCCOfdance with the accounting policies set out in note I to the accounts and comply with the Charitvs constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and RepLsblic of Ireland effective l January 2019.
