## Targetcraft AGM 7[th] August 2022

## Chairman’s Report

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to you all for your patience and acceptance for the shooting regulations we as a committee had to put in place for the previous indoor season because of the Covid restrictions.

Personally I thought it went very well and everyone appeared happy which is the main thing.

The outdoor season has so far gone very well with us reverting back to normal shooting conditions. It has been satisfying to see so many members on club nights and taking part of the Friday night rounds, if you haven’t attended yet, come along, you might find that it’s not as scary as it sounds and you may well enjoy yourselves.

The lifting or restrictions has meant the commencement of competitions, it has been very satisfying to see a number of our members going out and taking part, especially some of our newer members.

A knock on effect to this is that the club has had a significant number of its members called up to the county squad, for Tim, Jon and myself this is nothing new but for Jesse it was something new and it was Aaron’s first call up after defecting from Leicestershire, unfortunately Jessie was unable to take part due to work commitments but another call up will, I’m sure, be just around the corner.

At this point I would like to thank all the committee for their continuing hard work. Without this fine body of people the club simply wouldn’t function.

I would like to thank David Mathews (again), and Chris Tungate for stepping into the roles as Treasurer and Web Master. They have both taken to these rolls with energy and enthusiasm and have been vital cogs in the machine known as “The Committee”.

We have still been able to run numerous beginners courses over the last 12 months and our membership at the time of writing this report number 66.

Many, many thanks to Tim and his busy band of coaches, this brings new members into the club and valuable revenue, especially, once again, during a year without holding any competitions, so once again thank you to them and a big welcome to our new members.

As most of you will already be aware, we have a new qualified coach within the club so a big thank you to David ‘Bear’ Mathews for stepping up

Financially the club is in a strong healthy position, I will not dwell on this any further as this will be covered in the treasurers report

Bob has been busy again organizing and running the monthly Handicap Medal over the last 12 months so a big thanks for that and congratulations to all our monthly winners. As a handicapped competition, this is ideal for our new members to get their teeth into and I’m very glad that most of the winners this past year have been our newer members, well done

Unfortunately we lost Miles Goodman one of our long standing members recently to illness. Miles was a special friend to all of us who new him and a big part of the club being a committee member and coach.

Rest in piece my friend, you will be missed by all, oh! and if you do get your hands on a bow up there, please be careful!!! A bench and a memorial plaque has been purchased to sit up the field in his memory, the dedication of this will be as soon as possible

We will be going back indoors at the beginning of October with Tuesday nights as practice and coaching nights and Friday nights as a rounds night. With the lifting of restrictions hopefully this will mean getting back to a more normalized pre-pandemic way of shooting. Please let me remind you that if you feel that you do not want to shoot a round on a Friday that is no problem and you can just come and shoot but I would personally be very happy if members, especially the new ones, give it a go and use it as a guide to see how you are progressing.

Once the committee finalize the indoor shooting guidelines everyone will be informed and the information will also be placed on the clubs web sight so please keep a check.

If you are not aware, I should tell you all that after 6 years at the helm I will be standing down as Chairman. I would like to thank everyone for their support and help during that time. Working 6 days a week means that my time is very limited and I believe it is now

time to hand the reigns over, so please support your new Chairman when this has been decided at the AGM.

I would encourage everyone to attend on Sunday as this is your chance to get involved.

Finally good luck every one everyone with your shooting over the next twelve months.

Best Wishes Steve Allen Chairman
