Good evening and welcome to Gateshead musical theatre AGM.
This past 2 years has been very hard and challenging for GMTC
as a society.
Before all of that I would just like to say how proud I was as
chairn]an of our junior section that put on an excellent and
successful production of SpongeBob. l just want to say what an
amazing show this was and the talent that was on that stage was
second to none.
Unfortunately after SpongeBob we had to make a decision to
cancel our adult production of dirty rotten scoundrels. This was
a decision that was not taken lightly. Meaning that we have not
had an adult production since Addams family which I might say
was fantastic and even had me falling in love with the moon.
Moving forward With a new Committee I am really looking
fonvard to working with them if re elected as chairn]an to help
get GMTC back on the map and back to the excellent standard
of shows that our society puts on. Yes this will be hard work to
get more members for our adult society and to get junior
members back but hopefully this will be the start with our next
junior production of chitty.
During this year our treasurer Julie decided to step down due to
personal reasons. Meaning we were left without a treasurer. As
you can see the accounts that have been provided were for the
previous year and we are working a year behind as the current
year's accounts were not done. I do apologize for this as this is
not how I would like the socety to be known. I and the
committee are currently going through the accounts to try and
get this year brought up to date. Once these have been
completed and audited I will get copies sent over to all members
to bring them up to date with the current finances.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Julie for her many
years as treasurer and ticket booking secretary and wish her all
the best moving forward.
I wish I could of brought some better news to this AGM with
account updates and how much profit we made on the last shows
etc. unfortunately this was not possible, but I will endever to try
and get this inforn]ation to you ASAP.
On a brighter note we have the junior show coming up which
I'm sure will be another GMTC spectacular production. I look
fonvard to working the with children on this show and hope to
sell lots of tickets and fly that car high.
