(3) TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE COLNE VALLEY FOR THE RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITION OF LIFE.N.B. THE COLNE VALLEY AS DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT IS DEFINED AS THE AREA COVERING THE COLNE VALLEY REGIONAL PARK TO THE WEST OF GREATER LONDON AND AS WELL AS SURROUNDING AREAS THAT BENEFIT OR MAY BENEFIT FROM THE COLNE VALLEY.

**Activities:** (1) To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the Colne Valley through the implementation of discrete projects and the issuing of grants.(2) To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.
