Introduction
The Trustees are pleased to present the Trustees' Report for The Javan Coker Foundation for the year ended 30 September 2025.
The Javan Coker Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), together with their families and carers. Throughout the year, the Foundation continued to deliver high-quality, inclusive programmes that promoted wellbeing, confidence, independence, inclusion and community participation.
Despite increasing demand for services and the ongoing financial pressures affecting the voluntary sector, the Foundation remained resilient, continuing to expand its reach through strong partnerships, dedicated volunteers and the generous support of our funders.
Our Mission
To empower children and young people with disabilities and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), together with their families, to reach their full potential through inclusive programmes, advocacy, education and community-driven support.
Our Objectives
The charity exists to advance public benefit by:

Relieving the needs of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs while supporting their families, carers and wider support networks.

Promoting equality, inclusion and independence for children and young people with SEND.

Reducing social isolation through inclusive activities, family support and community engagement.

Providing education, advocacy and practical support to improve outcomes for children and families.
Our Programmes and Services
During the year, The Javan Coker Foundation continued to deliver a wide range of inclusive programmes, including:

Safe Space for SEND – Weekly inclusive sessions providing recreational, educational and wellbeing activities for children and young people with SEND.

• SEND Siblings Care – Dedicated support for siblings through confidencebuilding activities, emotional wellbeing sessions and peer support.

Safe Space for Dads – A peer support programme for fathers and father figures, promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive family relationships.

Ladies Breakfast & Chat – Weekly wellbeing sessions for mothers and female carers, reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.

• Building Confidence Series – Workshops designed to develop confidence, life skills, creativity and leadership.

Children & Young People's Conference – An annual event empowering young people to express their views, celebrate achievements and develop leadership skills.

Cooking with Fatou – Inclusive cooking sessions promoting healthy eating, independent living skills and teamwork.

Ladies Together Conference – An annual event promoting wellbeing, personal development and positive parenting.

Day Trips and Respite Activities – Inclusive recreational outings providing enjoyable experiences and valuable respite for families.

Workshops and Advocacy – Advice and support on SEND, benefits, EHCPs, safeguarding, housing, education and access to local services.
Our Impact 2024–2025
Throughout the year, the Foundation continued to make a positive difference to children, young people and families across our communities.
Our programmes enabled participants to build confidence, develop friendships, improve social skills and enjoy safe, inclusive opportunities that many families would otherwise struggle to access.
Parents and carers benefited from practical advice, peer support and wellbeing activities, helping to reduce social isolation and improve family resilience.
The Foundation also continued to strengthen relationships with local authorities, schools, community organisations and health professionals to ensure families received holistic and coordinated support.

Volunteers
The Foundation continues to be supported by a dedicated team of 31 volunteers who contribute their skills, time and experience across all areas of the organisation.
Their commitment enables the Foundation to deliver safe, high-quality services and create lasting positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
Challenges
Demand for our services continued to increase throughout the year as more families sought specialist SEND support.
Like many charities, we experienced rising operational costs, increasing financial pressures and growing demand for unrestricted funding. Despite these challenges, the Foundation continued to develop innovative programmes and maintain high standards of service delivery through effective partnership working and volunteer support.

Statement of Trustees' responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law, the Trustees have elected to prepare the accounts in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under Charity law the Trustees must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the profit or loss of the Charity for that period. In preparing these accounts, the Trustees are required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
-
prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to small companies within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

For the year ending 30 September 2025 the Charity was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. The members have not required the Charity to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The Trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - Small Entities.

1 Statutory information
THE JAVAN COKER FOUNDATION is a Charity, registered in England and Wales, registration number 1181275. The registered office is 47 Abbey Grove , Abbeywood , LONDON, SE2 9EU, UK.
2 Compliance with accounting standards
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities. There were no material departures from that standard.
3 Accounting policies
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
Presentation currency
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.
Government grants
Government grants in relation to tangible fixed assets are credited to profit and loss account over the useful lives of the related assets, whereas those in relation to expenditure are credited when the expenditure is charged to profit and loss.
Grants and donations
Grants and donations are only included in the SoFA when the general income recognition criteria are met (5.10 to 5.12 FRS102 SORP).

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30 September 2025 Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a part qualified examiner's statement member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
