Our u3a ¢￿tInUeS to be successful and this is very much d(Ywn to the suptM)rt we get from the
n*mbership and the efforts ofour group le*Jers.
I have onty been Chair for the last 12 but I have to say I'm very impressed with the
professionalism and enthuskasm of our wmmittee and u3a wbers- I've inherited an excdlent
team from Bob Tyas.
In September W year, some of our ff*mt*rs and commiiiee rr￿1berS manned a stand in the foyer
of Sainsburys. which iT￿reased the visibilty of our u3a in tThvn. In addition. the excellent art￿eS
that our secretsry. Ann, has managed to gèt into the Focus has resutted in several new members.
I would like to take this Opp￿tunty to thank all the ￿rnbers ofthe ￿rnMittee for tt￿1r hard work and
support during the year.

The trend this year has been upwards, with 249 members and asscoate members, whth shows a
healthy. actrve u3a. A similar o)mff*nt appI￿S to the numter of members attending our rronthty
meeting which ks ¢urrenty around the 8￿90 mark.
Accounts
The annual is attached to thi$ rew( ￿en with no inuease in the Mem1￿7P fee this year, we
are confident of a finanoally healthy futu￿. Our treasurer will address ihe AGM on Juty yd wth bTr)re
details.
Groups
The a¢tivty groups continue to gruw and I'm pleased to say Ihat o￿lta1 Photography and S￿nCe
& Technology groups have been rfrestabltshed and Ukulele and Gin 2 groups formed.
On behaw of the Commillee. I would like to thank all the group who work so hard to supwrt
their group and make them the success thai Itw a￿.
Soclal Activltles
As far as the ￿la1 xtivths organwd by cwr scKial secretsry. we W the very suotessful qulz night
last November which attracted many U3A MeMb￿S and friends. Ajthough I couldn't attend. I do know
people very much enjoyed it arml l am looking forward to the one this year nLW we have a new &tial
Secretary. At the tsme ofwriting this, our summer ouling lo Lodges Coaches is yet to happen. but I
have no doubt that it wll be very successful. Thanks to Mary and team for the hard work and effort
that goes into organisirwJ these events.
Commltt
I would like to thank Mary Brindley. our s￿"al Secretsry. who is standing dtywn from the role after
many years of excellent Wofklbut will re￿in on the commrtieel, and to Al￿n Suffey. our Groups
ordinator who has to stsnd down after reaching his term limiL Thank you both for your excellent work.
I'm very pleased to say that we have volunteers for toth these p)5itions WI￿ wyll be intrc¥Juced at the
AGM.
