The charity has been a CIO since 2018 and we apply for grants and actively fundraise to pay for running costs and additional equipment to enhance the children’s experience in playgroup. The three trustees manage the group and three members of staff run the playgroup on a day-to-day basis, consisting of a supervisor and two playgroup assistants. Meetings are held regularly.

The playgroup is a member of Early Years Wales (EYW), who provide us with regular contact with a development worker and we are governed by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) who inspect and provide guidance for us.

Section C - Objectives and Activities

It is the aim of Trelogan Playgroup to provide inclusive, high quality sessional day care for children aged 2 ½ - 4 years old, to enhance their development, care and education in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. The children are able to learn through play, guided by committed play workers in partnership with parents.

Section D – Fundraising

The Playgroup is registered with Easyfundraising and Amazon Smile, to gain a small percentage from online sales. We also hold several fund raising events throughout the year. With the relaxation of Covid-19 regulations in 2021 we were able to hold some events: A games / sales table at the village fete in June, two coffee mornings, in August and September and a games / sales table at the village Christmas fair in December. All events were well attended.

Section E - Financial Review

Most of our income comprises of playgroup fees. We are registered with the Childcare Offer and have several families registered with this scheme. We are also registered with Tax-free Childcare, Edenred Child and Computer Share Voucher Services.
