| Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) |
During the period from 6 April 2023 to 5 October 2024, Asylum Links continued to pursue its charitable objectives of supporting refugees and migrants by improving access to information, services, and opportunities that may enhance their living conditions. The charity’s activities were primarily delivered through online outreach, particularly via the website alinks.org, which provided accessible information about asylum procedures, employment opportunities, healthcare access, and other essential services in different countries. Through this platform and associated online communication channels, the charity responded to enquiries from refugees and migrants seeking guidance on practical issues related to relocation, legal status, work opportunities, and integration. The website served a large international audience and, until March 2024, received approximately 300,000 page views per month, enabling the charity to disseminate information widely and support individuals across multiple regions. In May 2023 the charity provided a donation of £1,500 to support a small skills development workshop in a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. Residents of the camp often face significant barriers to employment and have limited access to education or training opportunities. The workshop aimed to provide basic practical training to help participants develop skills that could improve their chances of finding work or income-generating opportunities. The initiative followed an earlier workshop focused on basic carpentry skills. |
The trustees confirm that they have had due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission for England and Wales on public benefit when planning and carrying out the charity’s activities during this period.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main During the reporting period, Asylum Links continued to provide support achievements of the charity and information to refugees and migrants through its established online during the year outreach activities. The charity maintained and updated the information available on its website, alinks.org, which remained a significant source of guidance for individuals seeking information about asylum processes, employment opportunities, and access to essential services in different countries. Until March 2024 the website received approximately 300,000 monthly visits, allowing the charity to reach a wide international audience and respond to a substantial number of enquiries from individuals seeking assistance.
A further achievement during the period was the financial support provided to a skills development workshop in a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. In May 2023 the charity donated £1,500 to support this initiative, contributing to practical training activities intended to strengthen refugees’ skills and support greater self-reliance. Following the delisting of the alinks.org website by Google in March 2024, the visibility of the platform significantly decreased, which led to a gradual reduction in the number of enquiries received by the charity. As a result, the level of activity progressively declined during the summer of 2024. Despite this change, the charity continued to respond to requests for support where possible and maintained its commitment to assisting refugees and migrants through accessible information and guidance.
