In accordance with the objectives of Lions Clubs International, and to follow the guidance issued by the Charity Commission with regards to public benefit, the Club has operated as follows.
Due to Covid restrictions, activities have been curtailed this year, but we were able to achieve the following activities:-
-collect the income generated by our Easter Egg raffle which had been detained by participating establishments because of “lockdown”.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
-although unable to make a public collection for funds, we used some of our cash balance to make up and distribute 28 Christmas parcels for the disadvantaged.
-arranged in December to make 4 street to street collections in Haddenham using a Santa Sleigh and playing Christmas music.. This was very successful and much appreciated by the residents.
Funds so raised enabled us to:-
- -make donations to a number of local charities and national charities with local connections. (see details over)
-continue to manage the distribution of the Lions “Message in a Bottle” and “Message in a Wallet” schemes.
Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)
