5. Fundraising and Communlty Sérvké a¢tfvllla•
This Lionistic year finally saw the end of the imposrtions forced on us by the Covid °Lockdowns° and we
gradually began to be able to cc#nmence both furKlraising arKI Social events once more.
A significant amount of the surplus teing reported by ow Treasurer for 2021-22 could not be used for
charrtable purposes as it related to early receipt of fund8 relating to the July 2022 North Bucks Bik8 Rid8 and
are attributiV8 to the 2022 - 2023 knoni8tic year.
We were, however, still able to Support various causes and local needs to the total of some £4,700, this year,
which, while rt exceeded the available income. we were able to supplement by drawing on the limited reserves
that we had judiciously retained.
Once again, we have also benefrtted from being a registered charity, a￿1 recetving some very welcome input
from Gfft Aid money from HMRC.
The determination of the members of the Lions Club of Wlnslow. to follow the Lions Creed of. 'We Serve,. has
bèan r8fl8Cted again in the amount of effort arKI personal generosty sh(AYn by our membern.
The ablllty for our resummion Of'r￿rmal semce" after the Covid 'lockdown' together with plans for new
fundraising events looks very bright for the Club'8 continuing aims of helping those in need and sepiing our
local communrty.
