Club<br>members carry out this service at no cost to the<br>end user|

Throughout this<br>accounting period the Club has had a<br>membership of 13 individuals.<br>Tring Lions Club CIO carried out several<br>fundraising activities to raise funds from the<br>public. In conjunction with several other Lions<br>Clubs in the area, we operated a second-hand<br>Bookshop in the Marlowe’s shopping centre in<br>Hemel Hempstead. During this accounting year<br>this was once again the main source of income.<br>Income from the Bookshop was £13154 for this<br>accounting period, compared with £11181 for the<br>preceding year.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|During this accounting period the Club raised<br>£3424 through fundraising, and another £13154<br>was raised through the Lions Bookshop from the<br>sale of donated second-hand Books, DVDs CD’s<br>and LP’s etc.<br>Following the granting of CIO status in December<br>2018 Tring Lions Club CIO is now able to make a<br>Gift Aid claim after the end of the tax year on<br>membership subscriptions, and also on cash<br>donations under the Gift Aid Small Donations<br>Scheme (GASDS). The amount claimed relating<br>to Gift Aid from H M Revenue & Customs this<br>accounting period amounted to £718.<br>Tring Lions Club CIO also made 36 separate<br>donations during the accounting period to local,<br>national, and international charities as well as to<br>local good causes. The total amount donated this<br>year came to £15392.<br>Examples of our donations are:<br>£1000 sponsorship of the Community Minibus<br>£1000 to Lions Club International Foundation<br>(Disaster Emergency Fund)<br>£1000 to Berkhamsted & Tring Ukraine Hosting<br>Network<br>£1000 to Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter<br>(DENS)<br>£895 to Berkhamsted & Tring Stroke Support<br>Group<br>£800 to the Pepper Foundation<br>£800 to 1st Tring Scouts / Cubs<br>£500 to Tring Running Club<br>We also did a lot of work with our local Schools<br>during this accounting period providing grants for<br>extra-curricular activities and projects.  Also<br>providing financial support towards the cost of<br>School residential trips.  Examples of our<br>donations for schools this year are as follows;|





£1500 to Grove Road Primary School £900 to Dundale Primary School £600 to Bishopswood Primary School £600 to St Mary’s Primary School, Northchurch £500 to Brookmead School, Ivinghoe £500 to St Bartholomew’s School, Wigginton £500 to St Thomas More School, Berkhamsted The Club continues to bear the annual maintenance costs of a Defibrillator in Tring Town centre which we arranged to be installed. This amounted to £214 for the accounting period. We also collected 5616 pairs of spectacles from members of the public for re-cycling. This is done using collecting bins in local opticians. Members collect them regularly and these are then sent to another Lions Club for checking and shipping abroad to less developed Countries for use by the people there. 108 Used hearing aids were also collected by Club members for refurbishment and recycling. Finally, the members of the Club carried out 2969 hours of service to the local community during this accounting period, including volunteering at the Lions Bookshop and completing 92 separate Service Activities.
