EDM aims to sponsor projects, usually educational projects, which help children or young adults who live in poverty. EDM carries out its aims by making donations to organisations it knows well or to established organisations whose aims are to relieve children from poverty or enhance education. This would typically be in developing countries but also in the UK.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are(1) To Prevent And Relieve Poverty By Providing Financial Support To Children And Young Adults Anywhere In The World Who Are The Victims Of War Or Civil Disturbance, Breach Of Human Rights, Any Public Calamity (including Famine, Earthquake Or Pestilence), The Immediate Or Continuing Effects Of Lack Of Natural Or Other Resources, Any Other Cause Of Property Distress Or Suffering. This Includes By Making Donations To Charities Or Not-For-Profit Organisations In The UK Or Overseas.(2) For The Public Benefit, The Advancement Of Education Of Children Or Young Adults Anywhere In The World.
