Trustee Report for 2021
Summary The charity has had another good year, with donations made of £2,860, whilst the total assets have risen from £40,627 to £43,765.
Grants We have continued to make donations of £500 each to local charities which fall within the purposes for which the charity is run. Also, for the first time, we have set up a standing order in favour of the Hull Minster Choral Scholarship scheme, initially for three years, with a review to be held at the end of that period. This provides financial assistance to teenagers who wish and have a talent to develop their musical abilities within the Minster. The one-off donations were made to:
Acts 4.35. This is a new charity to us, recommended by archbishop Sentamu, which provides resources to churches and charities as they care for the vulnerable and those in need.
Open Doors Hull.
Mires Beck Nursery.
Home from Hospital.
Iron Duke Sea Cadets. This too is a new recipient this year, which provides activities for local underprivileged children, specifically using water based sports on a lake that they rent nearby.
Future plans It is our intention to again make grants during 2022 from the funds held in the HSBC current account accumulated during the years when the charity was dormant. It is disappointing that the bank are now charging a monthly £5 account fee, plus 40p cheque handling, which will eat into our annual income. We will investigate as to whether there are any alternatives.
