our annual summer What's Your Move family fun event at the Plaza and
th8 Cosy Chrlstmas acliviiy and lighls switch on at Thurnscoe Library.
Regeneration
Thurnscoe Regeneration is a community-based ¢harily,' we make posltlve
thlngs happen In Thurnscoe and the wlder area and help people to feel
more ¢onneded. Our charitable objectives are about improving opportunities
for all residents of Thurnscoe and the wider Dearne area.
Also this year, we supported the Halloween Haunted Hlke Event and
delivered two Breaklng Beat8 electronic music courses for young people.
We regularly host community clean up and planting sessions to refresh the
half moon and 3-tier planters across the village, and we are committed lo
maintaining and improving iho Community Plaza. This year we have started
significant work on the raised beds and have many more exciting plans.
The CIO arrange a minimum of four community events each year to bring
people logether as well as supporting local initiatives that h81p to make
Thurnscoe a better place to live.
As an independent charity, we apply for funding to support new projects in
the village and lo maintain our legacy projecls created through Big Local
ThLJrn5coe such as the Community Plaza and the village Christmas Tree
and Llghts.
In the last 12 months, we were successful In attractlng
over 12k in funding which has supported our events
and green space activity.

We are always looking for people to get involvedl If you are interested in
being part of our board of trustees, we meet every 3 months in Thurnscoe
and would love to see you.

Our board consists of people who live or work in Thurnscoe. We get feedback
at our events to find out what else people would like to see happen in the area.
We work hard to make projects happen in partnership with other groups
and through using external funding that we apply for on a regular basis.

Meet the Board Members
There are CUrren￿Y 9 trustees on Ihe board of the CIO, here is a brief introduclion;
Charlotte Williams.. Having been on the Big Local Thurnscoe
Helen Owen.. I have lived in Thurnscoe since 1982 and due
group, I was delighted lo be invited to become a board member
lo my husband's connection with the Comprehensive School
of Thurnscoe CIO. In my day job l am Chief Executive for Station
(when w8 had one her81) I got lo know a lol ol people in
House, another local charity. Il's a natural partnership as both
the village.
organisations work in Thurnscoe to make peoples lives better.
l joined Big Local several years ago and Thurnscoe Regeneration
Currently l am the Chairperson and delighted lo have an amazing
organisation feels a natural progression for me. I care about
and diverse groups ol Trustees, who all share a passion for
the village and ils people and hope by belonging to this
making Thurnscoe a great place lo live. Some of our projects are big, others are
organisation, I can enable good things lo happen here lor the benefit of ev8ryon8.

Matthew Wake.. I have lived in Thumswe since 2017 and I
now work in a local school.
Wendy Cain: I have lived in Thurnscoe for roughly tW8nty-
five years. l am committed to working in the community as a
volunteer and in my new role as local councillor.
l am a member ol the CIO as Ifeel a responsibility to represent
the residents of the area.
I was k88n lo join tre CIO as I wanted lo contribute lo the
communty that I live in.
Sarah Maughan.. l am a trustee lor the CIO because I want lo
understand the community that I now live and work in. My role
as a priest means l am often asked lor help and knowing what
else is happening in the village really helps my signposting.
The well-being and life ol the people in our community is very
dear to me, not Iu8t as their priest but In all areas ol their life.
Greg Kuczmalda- I have lived in Thurnscoe lor the last 18
months after previously living in Wath upon Dearne and Swinlon.
My work with John Healey MP has opened up lo me the amazing
work Big Local Thurnscoe has carried out for the last 10 yèars
and shown me the positive impact It has had on the community.
When I moved into Thurnscoe it made sense lo get involved
with the legacy organisalion ol Big Local Thumscoe and become
a Member ol Thurnscoe Regeneration CIO and be a part ol future projects benefitting
the communty ofThurnscoo. I bring a wealth ol local contacts that will help Thurnsco8
Regeneration and am more than happy lo volunteer at our planned events.
Anne Nlxon.. Anne Nixon is Health and Wellbeing Delivery
Manager for Barnsley Premier Leisure, having worked across
various industries and delivering heatth care exercise prograrnmes
for specialist areas including cancer rehabilitation and creating
provision lor pre and post natal women - Anne constantly strives
to ensure BPL leisure cgntres provide a warm and welcoming
space lor everyone in the local communily.
Cllfford Seaton: I was born in Thurnscoe and have lived in
the village all of my life. I workod lor the NCB for most ol my
working life and I was a school governor at Claylon Lane School
for a number ol years.
I have joined the CIO as I have always taken an interest in the
villagg and want to play an active part in ils dgvelopment.
Allson Vlnl, Development Worker.. I have worked in
Thurnscoe for over 12 years now, first as the Development Worker
lor Big Local Thurnscoe and then for the CIO. Over the years I
have got lo know lols of great people and commLJnity groups
and organisations and that makes my work so much easier.
I'm really proud of the difference that we have made to Thumscoe
and I love that my job is never the same from week lo week.
Looking to the future, the CIO has a fantastic board of trustees who all care about
improving the village and creating opportunities for residents. We have some great
plans for the coming years and I'm looking lonNard to all ol the challenges and
successes to comel
Sue Bellamy: I became a trustoe becau881 think the CIO does
amazing things in th8 Dearne and I wanted lo be a part of it.
I've lived in Thurnscoe for over 10 years now and I wouldnl want
to live anywhere else.

The financial ststements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Constitution
and Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable
to charities preparing their accounts In accordance wth the Financial Reporting Standards
for Smaller Entlties.
The trustees rgsponslbillties for the flnancial statements
The trustees are responsible for preparing financial ststements for each
financial period which give a clear view of the state of affairs of the chaiity and of the
the surplus or deficit of the charty for that period. In preparing those financial ststements,
the trustees are required to..

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which
