shall have power to establish or secure the establishment of
community centre and to maintain or manage or co-opèratè
with any statutory authority in the maintenance and
management of such 8 centre activities promoted by the
charity in furtherance of the above objects. Nothing in thls
constitulion shall authorise an application of the property of
the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable.

A number of groups and organisations booked the centre to
hold meetings or training sessions. These included First
Choice Homes Oldham, Ihe ESAN Community. the OROMO
Community, the Malayalee community, Ingeus Restart,
EVA Healthcare, the Wemeth Ward Counsellors and Action

Safeguarding training for Iheir customers.
Heatth and wellbeing
Spoons Messy play for babies and toddlers referred by the
Royal Oldham hospital meet for sensory play once a month.
Spark Oldham ran 12 x 8aby Boogies sessions.
A weekly youth dub, ran by Mahdlo Youth Zone, is held at
the centre.
M.J. Dance School continues to use the centre for their
dance sessions each week and the Malayalee Community
organised a number of children's dance sessions.
The Oldham Fr￿ICYcle Hub whlch provldes free vegetsrian
meals continues to co)k meals. Between 2540 people are
fed each week.
The Community Fridge continues lo provide free frull, veg
and bread for anyone who is struggling financially.
Approximately 5 tonnes of food was collected and
rèdistributed during 2024.
A weekty Coffee & Crafts group is organised by the ladies.

Spark Oldham ran HAFS (Holiday 8Ctlvity with Food
sessions) in October and Dec8mb8r 2024.
In May and July 2024 the centre was used as a polling
stst)on.
Salford Soual SeNc8s booked the centre for famlly contact

There were 78 private parties held al weekends during the
year.

the cèntre and run a weekty Coffee & Crafts session for

confidenc&building, cost of living, budgeting and chroni
illnesses.
Sewing classes are teaching ladies a new skill that
could be used lo help with obtsining employment.
Great Places held a budgetlng training session to help
people manage their finances.
Open Kitchen ran a 'Tasty Meals on a Budget, cooking
session to help people manage their finances better.
Northem Roots ran chutney and jam4naking sessions with
fruit from a local orchard and allotment.
Fear of Cylme: GM Pollce Communlty Support Officers
allended group sessions to introduce themselves and
discuss how to keep safe.
Mental Health: PeacefiJl Minds provldes one-towone
counselling to residents Suffering from mental health issues
and coupleslfamity couns811ing. She also runs a weekly
Poetherapy group for ladies. which includes singing and
pcetry lo express emolion.
A weekly get-together over food is held on Sundays,
which focuses on health and wellbeing and building
relationships.
Advice, Information and guidance: this continues to
be provided via telephone, social media and through
surgeries held at the Primrose Centre.

A further donation of £1,000 was given to Positive
Steps to continue to run weekly Early Help drop-in
session at the Primrose Centre. The funding is to
support families and individuals with issues
surrounding housing, finance, mental wellbeing,
physcal health. parents'ng and employment.
Physical Health: ABL Health ran 6 x weekly health
sessions for Urdu ladies, followed by fortnighlly nutrition &
exercise ckisses to educate people on improving their
heallh. diet and exercise.
The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme ran five
programmes during '24 ~ '25. Each programme consists of
13 seS￿ons. ran over 11 months.
Parkinson's Oldham continue to hold three meetings p8r
month at the Primrose Centre. Their sessions include
armchair exeruse, massage. quizzes. games,
entertainment, meals and presentats'ons from various
organisats'ons to help COFe With Ihe illness and maintain a
healthy lilestyie.
An Autism support group continue to use lh6 centre for their
weekly get-togethers to support autism sufferers and carers.
Children suffering from autism take part in aclivilies
Including ¢r8ft and play.
A weekly ladies Fitblast circuit training class continues
to run, organised by Oldham Community Leisure .
The South Asian Women's Network has continued to
run a weekly Zumba class for ladies to encourage
more exercise through dance.
The Ladies Chai Project ran a 12-week Bollywood
dan￿ class, which was well-attended.

£39,241, being £21 restricted funds and £39,220
unrestricted funds.

reserves:
The trustees have examined the major strategic.
business and operational risks which the charity faces
and confimi that systems have been established to
enable regular reports to be produced so that the
necessary steps can be taken to lessen these risk8.
The trustees aim to build free reserves in unrestricted
funds at a level which equates to between three and
six months of charitable expenditure. The charity's
main source of income is room hire charges, grants
and donations.

Great Places assists with governan￿ of the CIO. The
Charity is also a member of Action Together, who
assist with training, recruitment of new trustees, skills
audits and other training courses if needed.
From 1 St November the finances were split to separate
the Primrose Bank Community Association from Great
Places. Great Places manages room hire income and
pays all the centre bills and the Association organises
activities and events in the local community. £40,000
was transferred to Great Places to pay towards the
lifecycle programme, repairs and running costs.

Oldham Council owned Primrose Community Cenlre,
which is managed by Great Places Housing
Association by way of a PFI contract. Great Places
commit resources to support the Charity with

Great Places staff supported the board of trustees by
sittsng on the board.
