2024/25
“Inspiring the next generation for a better tomorrow”

Over the past 12 months our charity have made over 16 school and college visits running 2 or 3 workshops per visit and in doing so have reached over 300 students in Devon and Cornwall teaching how to program an Edison Robot and at the same time learn how to maximise the sensing and motion capabilities of the V2 Edison robots interacting with the EdScratch programming interface.
Our school reach expanded to include smaller rural schools like Woolacombe, Marwood and Shirwell where our contributions to mixed year groups was greatly appreciated.
During this reporting period David Avery stood down as chair of trustees and was replaced by existing trustee Keith Nichols. All trustees were grateful to David for his leadership and setting up the charity in 2018. David remains a valuable trustee of our charity.
This year has also seen our charity collaborate with the School of Education at Exeter University to support their research titled “ The motivations and potential of retired volunteer experts in supporting regional schools ” under the guidance of Professor Brahm Norwich, School of Education, University of Exeter.
Our charities aim is to promote STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) in our region. Offering students an opportunity to explore science and technology through programming robotic devices as well as understanding from our scientists and engineers how technology career opportunities can provide secure and engaging futures for the students.
In November 2024 we were able to support the IET with their successful North Devon Robotics challenge at Petroc College which this year number of local schools participating in this prestigious event.
