Firefly Robotics Educational Charity - Annual report 06/04/2020 - 05/04/2021
The Virus Covid19 inhibited all activities before 1 December except the development of the Raspberry Pi Robots. In December PATROC our College of Higher Education hosted an event that involved six (8 year old) pupils from Newport Primary School operating the Robo’s for about 2 hours. It proved how effective undertaking enjoyable tasks were in educating the participants. Sadly, It demonstrated many problems with the Robo’s including a lack of robustness.
Alternative Robots were researched and it a relief to find the Edison Robot, which had not been available 2 years before met our needs and was less expensive. A decision to develop future activities using it was mode
