The charty is govemed by its Trust Deed and is registered with the Charities
Commission (Number 1181055)
ObjeGtives
Huddersfield Feral and Strays aim is to provide the best care, protection and
veterinary tmtrient by providing a safe environment for cats in need of attention
through sickness, maftreatment or abandonment. In addrtion to this, educate the
communty regarding cat weVare and responsible ownership through various
methods including social media and events.
We help both dornesticated and feral cats within the Huddersfield and su￿Ound1ng
area by a trap. neuter release initiative. This has a positive direct impact on the
welfare of animals and also the local communty.
Hudder5fietd Feral and Strays work ak)ngsKle large and small charities both local
and national. to assist with rescue and rehoming.

expenditure of 74,521£ for the Year Ended 31st Dec2mber 2021, resutting in a profrt
for the year of £13,493

Responsibilities of the Trust￿$
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of accounts for each financial year
which give a true and fair view of the Chartys financial activrties during the year and
of tts financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those accounts the
trustees a￿ required to:

Make judgements and estimatss that are reasonable and prudent.
stste whether applicable accountant stsndards and statements of
recommended practice have been followed. subject to any departures
disclosed and explained in the accounts.
Prepare the accounts on the going con￿rn basis unless it is inappropriate to
presume that the charEty will continue in operatton.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose
with reasonable accuracy at any time the financAal posÈti"on of the charity and to
enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Charities Act 1993. They
are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity arKI hen￿ tsking
reasonable steps for the prevention of fraud and other irregularities.

We report on the accounts of the trust for the year ended 31 St December 2022, which
are set out on pages 7 to 12.

As the charity's Trustees you are responsible for preparation of the accounts" you
consider that the audit requirements of section 43(2) Charities Act 1993 rfhe Act)
does not apply. It is our responsibility to state. on the basis of procedures specÉfied in
the general directions gNen by Charity Commissions under sectFon 43(7b) of the
Act, whether particular matters come to our attention.
Bas18 of ind•p•nd•nt axaminars report
Our examination was carr￿d out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting
records kept by the charily and a ￿mpariSon of the accounts presented which
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosLtres in the accounts and
seeking explanations from you as Trustees conceming any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be requires in an
audit and consequentty we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the
accounts.

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

1. Accounting Policie8
General
These accounts have been prepared under historical cost convention and in
accordance with applicable accounting stsndards and the CharÉties SORP
(Statement of Recc¥nm8nded Practice. 'AccxJunting by Charities.)
Capital Items
Capital items for the Charities own use are caprtalised rf they are greater than
£1000. If they have been funded by a specffic grant, tr￿n an equiva5ent
amount is credited to differed income and written off over the esttmated life of
the asset.
All other capitsl items purchased are wfitten off through the statement of
financial activities during the year of a(4uisition.
Grants Roceived
Grants which have been receNed for a specific purpose are accounted for
separately as restricted funds. Grants are brought to account when they are
re￿ived. Huddersfield Feral and Strays have received no grants in this
financial year.
