The objectives of the charty as per tts governing document are:

l. Promoting the principles of good cttizenship.
2. Encouraging members to take an artive interest in the civic, cultural. social and moral
welfare of the community.
3. Providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest- provided that
partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by member.
4. Encouraging service-minded people to seNe their communty without personal reward and
encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in comme￿. industry. professions,
public works and private endeavours.
5. Supporting youth to develop their skills capacities and capabilrtie5 to enable them to
participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
6. Promoting the voluntary sector for the public benefit by associating with tocal authorities
in a common effort to advance education and provide faciltties in the interests of social
welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life of
people in lotal, national and international communities.

Financial Review
Reserves are held at a level that is commensurate with maintaining the abiltty to provide emergency
funding to support the local and international community in case of need.
The trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published
by the Commission in exercising their powers or duties.
Activities
We managed to hold our key community event. Honey Fair with increased attendance partfy due
to a move to Saturday. We have also supported the community at various other events.
We have continued to provide grants and donations to individuals and organisations.
A local humanitarian endeavour delivering aFd to Ukraine and operating under the tttle Cornwall
and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine was supported by Callington Lions. Other Lions tlubs,
individuals and other organisations in the area also supported this endeavour. passing funds to
Callington Lions where they were forwarded onto Cornwall and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine. In
total we received £6,836 in the year1£17.893- 20231 which was passed on. This has inflated our
Income and donations made.
Achievements and Performance
The trust move the date of the town's Honey Fair to a Saturday for the first time and this. together with
closer engagement with other organisations in the community. helped to increase public attendance bv
36%. We have also run other community events such as Bingo and supported several communty events
such as Remembrance Day, Father Christmas, CNIC Service, May Day etc.
We continued to make charwtable donations localty: nationally and internationally via lions Clubs
International Fund.

Restrirted and Endowment funds
There were no Endowment funds. The Restricted funds were intome received from members of the club
and these funds are specwficalty used to pay for the administratNe and social costs of the trust. Restricted
funds also include donations received from others specifically for use in the humanitarian efforts carried
out by Cornwall and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine. The movement on these fijnds is shown in the above
Statement of Financial Activity and is further analysed below.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Callington Lions Club (the Trust) for the
year ended 3￿JUne 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 20111'the ACVI. I report in respect of mv
examination of the TnJsY5 accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying Out my
examination I have followed all the applicable D1￿Ctions81¥en by the Charity Commission under seCt￿n
14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examlnerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention In
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material ￿speCt..
accounting records were not kept in respert of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act,. or
2. the accounts do not accord wr¢h those records: or
3. the accounts do not compty with the applitable requirements conceminB the form and content of
account5 set out in the Charities IAccounts and Reports) Regulations 2LI)8 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair vrew which 15 not a matter considered as part of
