The charity is a Charitable Interest Organisation charity number: 1181024 

The trust is governed by a trust deed dated 6[th] December 2018 

The trustees receive no remuneration. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The objectives of the charity as per its governing document are: 

1. The objects of the club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in particular: 

2. The advancement of citizenship by: 

   1. Promoting the principles of good citizenship. 

   2. Encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. 

   3. Providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by member. 

   4. Encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours. 

   5. Supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. 

   6. Promoting the voluntary sector for the public benefit by associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international communities.

7. Promoting volunteering. 

8. The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in particular by providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief. 

9. The advancement of health or the saving of lives by preventing avoidable blindness, assisting disabled people to lead independent lives or helping to prevent or manage health issues. 

10. Promoting for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, and/or 

11. Promoting community participation in healthy recreation. 

## **Activities** 

- Our activities are still impacted byCovid-19, with most of our major community event, Honey Fair cancelled for the second year running. We did manage to re-start our activities in the second half of the year, in particular holding a large community event for the Queens jubilee. 

- We have continued to provide grants and donations to individuals and organisations. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

The trust had to cancel the town’s Honey Fair for the second consecutive year and our planned meals to the elderly and disabled also had to be cancelled again, although we were able to deliver 

meals to the lonely and vulnerable.  We held a community event during the Queens Jubilee weekend and continued to make charitable donations locally; nationally and internationally via Lions Clubs International Fund.

## **Restricted and Endowment funds** 

There were no Endowment funds. The Restricted funds were income received from members of the club and these funds are specifically used to pay for the administrative and social costs of the trust and the movement on these funds is shown in the above Statement of Financial Activity. 

## **Trustees' responsibilities:** 

The trustees’ acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Charities Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
