THE PROMOTION OF BOWLING ACTIVITIES IN OUR AREA FOR THE WHOLE OF THE GATESHEAD AREA.
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
THE CLUB IS THE ONLY TYPE OF ACTIVITY WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THIS PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELL BEING GENERALLY. THE CLUB IS OPEN ON A REGULAR BASIS ON DAILY DURING THE PLAYING SEASON FOR BOWLING AND SOCIALISING.

WE HOLD REGULAR OPEN DAYS WHICH ARE WIDELY ADVERTISED. THIS HAS ENCOURAGED A NUMBER OF LOCAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER BOWLED BEFORE TO COME ALONG AND ENJOY AN ACTIVITY WHICH IS GOOD FOR THERE HEALTH, SOCIALABILTY AND JUST SIMPLY BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THEIR HOUSES HAS TO BE A DISTINCT ADVANTAGE.
WITH REGARDS TO OUR FORMAL PLAYING. WE COMPETE IN THREE LEAGUES AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FINISH IN THE TOP HALF OF EACH ONE.

ALL OF OR FUNDING OTHER THAN THAT OBTAINED FROM MEMBERS FEES IS VIA FUNDING APPLICATIONS. IN THE MAJORITY OF SUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS WE ARE REQUIREC TO PROVIDE THE FUNDER WITH SPECIFIC DETAILS OF OUR REQUIREMENTS WITH QUOTATIONS. ALL MONIES OBTAINED ARE GENERALLY RESTICTED FUNDS.

THE MEMBERS WE HAVE IS INCREASING ON A REGULAR BASIS. WE ARE A SMALL CLUB BUT WE FEEL VERY SUCCESSFUL AT PROVIDING A CONSIDERABLE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH A FRIENDLY AND SOCIABLE OUTLET. ALL MEMBERS PAY A FEE AND IN ADDITION WE HAVE A QUARTERLY DRAW.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
AS STATED PREVIOUSLY WE ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE TO JON OUR FRAIRLY SMALL BAND. MEMBERS DO NOT NESCESARILY HAVE TO BOWL, THEY CAN JUST SIMPLY SOCIALISE OR INDEED HELP WITH THE GENERAL CLUB ACTIVITIES AND BE SOCIAL MEMBERS. THIS YEAR WE HAVE INCREASED OUR MEMBERSHIP BY TWELVE, THIS IS VERY GOOD FOR A SMALL CLUB. SOME LOCAL CLUBS HAVE HAD TO CLOSE HAVE ACTUALLY CLOSED AS A RESULT OF THE LOCAL COUNCIL NOT SUPPORTING BOWLING . AS A RESULT WE NOW HAVE A LADIES TEAM WHICH COMPLETES IN THE LOCAL LEAGUE.
WITH REGARD TO FUNDING WE HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCSESSFUL IN THAT OTHER THAN ONE APPLICATION WE HAVEOBTAINED THE FUNDS THAT WE HAVE BID FOR.
WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING TO THE FUTURE AND AS SUCH WE HAVE BEGAN PROVISIONAL ENQUIRERIES TO HAVE OUR OLD PAVILLION REPLACED. THIS IS EARLY DAYS BUT IT SHOWS THAT WEARE PROGRESSIVE AND ALWAYS LOOKING TO IMPROVE OUR FACILITIES GENERALLY.
