Section C - Objectives and Activities
The objects of the CIO are to further or benefrt persons who live. work or study in Lee Green, Lewisham and
surrounding areas, without distinction of sex. sexual orientation, ra￿ or of political. religious or other
opinions by associating together the said residents and persons and the local authorrties, voluntary and
other organisations in a common effort to advance education and lo provide facilities in the interests of
social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life
for the residents.
In furtheran￿ of these objects but not othenvise. the trustees shall have powers to establish, secure or
continue the establishment of a community ￿ntre and to maintain or rnanage or cooperate wtth any
statutory authority, corporalion. voluntary organisation or other organisation in the maintenance and
management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above ok¥"ects.

The CIO was established in 2018 with the intention of transferring the assets and operations of an existing
charity to the CIO. Due to issues relating to finances and governan￿ the Board of Trustees has indefinitely
delayed this process.
