Trustees Annual Report

  1. A total of £18,500 was donated towards the sponsorship of 200 widows in India. A further amount of £52,000 was granted towards orphans, medical aid for the poor, community development projects and the relief of poverty program in India and Tanzania.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

During the period under review, the charity received unrestricted income of £878,296 (2020: £352,400) and had an expenditure of £668,629 (2020: £333,585). At the balance sheet date the charity held unrestricted funds of £355,924 (2020: £146,257).

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three and six month's running costs. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. The trustees consider the reserves policy to be adequate having considered the impact of COVID-19.

Donations are raised through contacts the trustees have with potential donors.

PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS

In 2022 we have pledged to continue supporting the above-mentioned activities so that there is no interruption in providing support to the needy and poor. The focus of the Trust will be to support the widows and orphans in terms of their daily needs and specifically for the education of the children.
