times in line with SSSI and Natural England
requirements. This has meant that invasive
weeds have been kept to a minimum
allowing rarer flora to flourish. Insects and
wildlife have also benefited from this.
Regular inspections have also been carried
out to monitor fencing, the natural springs
and the general condition of the Fen. No
major problems were found other than
routine fence repair work.
The charity has set up a website to make
information and photographs of the fen
available for viewing by interested parties,
and which will be undated as necessary. It
has a section where the charity can be
contacted with queries if required.
The charity is involved with a large local
project to refurbish the bells of the village
church, and first provided a grant for the
internal cleaning of the bell tower, before the
bells were removed to be refurbished.
The charity is open, through the parish
council, schools and local groups, to provide
grants for other projects that benefit the
