We were extremety sory to r￿1ve nolice fr(xn our Trustee and Chief Executive Elaine

We have been extremely lucky that Ttustee David Wamer has stepped in as Interim Chief

l ￿port on the accounts of the South Westminster Legal Advice Centre
for the year ended 31° tknmber. 2022 which a￿ set out on the following pages.
Respertive responsibilities of I￿￿ee$ ?rrfl examiner
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts and you consider
that an audit 15 not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Art 20111.the Charities
Act'l and that an independent examinatton bs needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the
accounts under section 145 of Charitie5 Act- to follow the procedures laid down in the general
Directions given by the Charity Commi55ion under section 145{5llb) of the Charities Act. and to state
whether partlcular matters have come to my attention.
8as15 of Independent examlnerf5 report
My examination was carried out in accordan￿ wlth the 8eneral Dlrectlons 8lven by the Charlty
Commission. An examination indudes a review of the accounting retords kept by the tharity and a
comparison of the accounts p￿sefited with those Rcords. It also includes consideration of any
unusual items or disclosures In the ètcounts. and Seeki￿ explanations from you as tnjstees
concerning any such matters. The procedu￿ undertakeft do not provide all the evldentr that would
be requlred In an audlt and consequently no oplnlon Is glven as to whether the accounts present a
"true and falrf vlew and the report is limfted to those matters set out In the statement below.
Independent examlnerfs statsment
In connection with my examination. no matter has come to ry attention:11) which gives me
reasoftable cause to believe that in any rnatertal respect the requirements: to keep accounting
records in accordance w¢th section 130 of the Charities Art; and to prepare accounts which accord
with the accounting records and cornpty with the accountiro requirernents of the Charities Act have
not been met; or121 to which. In my opinion. attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understandlng of tPe accounts to be reached.
