Para 1.20 | During the past year first aid cover has been provided, allowing events to go ahead and members of the public to be treated (in some cases life threatening). This has allowed other charities to raise funds for their own cause. We covered the Maldon Promenade for an increased number of days thoughout School holiday period in the summer. The number of events equated to 127 days our volunteers spent providing first aid cover. Over 150 people were treated ranging from minor to life threating incidents. Lifesaving treatment was provided to the very serious, and for the less serious casualties they could continue at the event. |

Financial Review
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | The number of events bounced back strongly in 2021 as the impact of pandemic was reduced. Expense reduced in one off purchases compared to 2020, but increased in areas such as volunteer expenses, and first aid equipment. This was expected as they are directly linked to the number of events covered. Corporate donations were significantly reduced, partly as more funding was given to causes relating directly to COVID. General donations from the public held up well, even though we did not do any demonstration events. The charity remains on a strong financial footing, tightly controlling expenses and with expected increase in events for 2022 it should the strongest year so far. |
|---|---|---|
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | The aim will be to hold a minimum of £4,000 in the bank to cover insurance, vehicle costs and first aid requirements. The current balance in the bank is much higher as the Charity looks to add another vehicle and increase its capacity to cover more events. With an additional vehicle, increased insurance expenses and a general raise in cost, the reserve is to be increase from £2,500 to £4,000. |
