|Summary<br>ofthe main<br>achievements<br>ofthe charity<br>during the year|||The Covid-19 pandemic<br>necessitated<br>our temporary<br>closure during<br>Spring 2020. This action consequently<br>reduced<br>our expected income for<br>the financial year. We made use ofthe furlough<br>scheme using the JRS in<br>order to pay staff wages. The trustees<br>regularly<br>reviewed<br>our financial|
||||situation,<br>and we were fortunate<br>in being able to make up the shorffall<br>in|
||||staff wages during<br>this time.<br>Additional<br>funding<br>was also secured to|
||||support the bank balance via grants and donations<br>from the community.|
||||Limited socially distanced<br>meetings were held outdoors<br>or via the zoom|
||||facilities.|
||||Decisions were made to relocate the 'Ducklings'<br>group onto the same site|
||||as the older age children<br>in our 'Ducks' section. We will be self-contained|
||||at the Cedar Rooms on the campus of All Saints' School, Gresford.<br>This|
||||venture<br>has the full support ofthe Headteacher<br>and is aimed at allowing|
||||the familiarity<br>and natural<br>progression<br>ofthe children<br>from playgroup<br>into|
||||school life. This move also offers us greater flexibility ofour staff at|
||||playgroup.|
||||We were delighted<br>to learn that the North Wales Manager and the|
||||Governance<br>Development<br>Officer for the Early Years Wales had|
||||shortlisted<br>the Chairperson,<br>Secretary,<br>and the Treasurer<br>of our|
||||playgroup<br>for an award.<br>By means ofa virtual ceremony<br>in December|
||||2020 these persons received the "Early Years Special Recognition|
||||Award" for the good practice and quality ofwork they have shown since|
||||being<br>in the office.|
||||We are pleased to conclude that despite the difficulties<br>thrust on|
||||everyone<br>this year, we closed the year in a positive financial<br>position.|
