We have continued to operate under the tharitable statu5 setup to Integrate all the squash activities in Gloucestershlre under a sin8le common structure. Durin8 thos time we have focused on è number of strateglc prlorftles: l. During 2023, the GSA has operated under the establlshed govemafKe and committee struciure. Time and eflort has been spent en8awng people to att as club representatives on the consultatlve Councll with the elected offlcers workin8 through the management ommittee to meet the legal duttes under the tharltles aCL The prlmary challenge remalns the ability to enga8e volunteers with sufficlent tlme and 5ntere5t to work on behaWof the GSA to promote squash in the county. 2. Follow1 completknn ¢rf the finandal Integration of the 5enlor and JunSor seCtn$, the GSA h35 operated as a sln8fe entity for the perlod. Thls Is an improvement on 2022 and prOdeS the fiexibllty to make strate8ic investments to develop squash In the county. 3. The COLsnty league has contlnued to operate with success under the new rules and structure this season. Efforts are now focussed on placement of team Into dI¥lon5. We are also workln8to encourage more teamsto plav In the league with as wSde a playln8 base as posslble across all 5tsndards. 5. We contlnue to work hard to ensure tht the lunlors are encouraged to tske up and enloy 5qUash as a core sport and It Is pleasln8 to see so many juntor taklng part In the county development pro8rammes across all the age ranges. SUcCeful coaching programmes contlnue at East Glos, Old Pats. Wycllffel Stroud and the Cheltenham Colleges. although the challen8e of findin8 addStSonal coaches to expand the number of bcatlons for these pro8ramme5 remalns. A SesSful county closed toumament was held In Aprll 2023 featurln8 1)oth sln8les and doubles competltions. There was a hi8h*uality squash entry wlth Wlll Saker ultimately retalnlngthe title of senlorcounty Charnpion he won in 2022. 7. As we look forward to 2023-24 season and bend. we TAllll (ontlnue our efftirts to grow the player base wFth actNitses to encourage rt playersto tske sporL 8.
