Working around the constralnts of a Covld-19 pandemic:
Leading on from last years rewt, we we forced to shutdown all squash activrbes as the
covid-19 pandemic took hold across the globe aThJ the UIQ There was uncertainty about the
timeliness of what was to come and h￿¥ thirvJs would run bad( as they were prior to a UK
lockdown. A few months in, V￿ decided to make use of the reduced contscl time and figure
out how we coukl best prepare Ourse￿ to c¢)me out of lOckdo￿Tr, bui to further reach to a
new target audience for squash vfithin Gloucestershire. We have buili funds over the last 3
years of operation to consider a large spend that would make communication with non-squash
playing members and those who are not familiar with squash consider the option of trying the
sport for the first time. We recognised that. as muth as the Y￿bsIte we had was functional for
playing members, it wasnl suitable for our aims and obiedives to outreach. Therefore, v
sought to invest in a ne4V websFie and a website creator to bring it inline with our ambitions.
This has gone do4￿ ￿￿1] wtth the wrrent playirKJ membership, and VR have started to see
non-squash playing audiences erquire about squash through our website that helps incYeas8
participation at local dubs vtho have linked up us to support this new growth. Our link with

packs which is another aim to increase participation into supporting dubs for potential junior
players.
County Development Progrnmme:
September 2020 saw the official merger of the GJSA and the GSA into one organisation that
oversees and aims to support squash activity in Gloucestershire. The handover was
successful which wll see the transfer of funds from the GJSA to support the aims for the GSA
long tenn. The roles of the GJSA have b￿n bro￿ht into the GSA and a commitment agreed
to ensure the grovl(h of junior participation and competthn within GIoucEStershire alongside
the Cu￿ent aims and objectives stated. More volunteers have teen engaged to assist with the
delivery of GSA'S aims and a new strategy is being developEd to support the agenda of the
GSA going forward.

NOTES:
The GJSA funds have tEen exduded frorn these accounts. However. the GJSA funds were
transferred to the GSA account in June 21 and going forward this report will include GJSA activities.
This year we've had an additional inGome stream for England Squash Regional Funding.
The GSA saw it ne￿SSary to invest in a new ￿bsite, this was the biggest area of expenditure
in the financial year and has now been launched. The GSA also started a funding campaign
to raise money for 2 irfflatable squash courts. The infiatables were purthased vthilst the funding
still sat in the funding account and the income for this will be recognised in the next financial year.
Wrth the impact of Cowd 19 still taking effect, league and toumament income and expenditure
was nil for the year.
