Structure and management
The group is a charitable incorporated organisation and managed by the Trustees listed above. Trustees are recruited from the group’s volunteers and formally elected at the Annual General Meeting. We will recruit a new Trustee this year following the death of one of our existing Trustees.
Aims and objectives
To promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association by providing disabled people with the opportunity to carriage drive to benefit their health and well being both physically and psychologically.
Activities and objectives in the year
Group activity is back to pre-pandemic levels and we have recruited new participants and volunteers. We continue to drive twice a week with all our participants.
Achievements and performance
For some of our participants coming to driving is the highlight of their week and offers both physical and psychological benefits. We have15 participants, who attend our twice weekly sessions, and are hoping to add to that number this spring. We aim to drive year round, weather permitting. We have three coaches in training who are due to be assessed very soon and this will help to keep sessions running should any our qualified coaches be unavailable for whatever reason.
Financial review
Like all charities the pandemic affected our finances and we are looking at ways to raise funds this year.
Policy on reserves: We aim to have a reserve of approximately one year’s running costs
Declaration
The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees report above.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE
WANSDYKE CARRIAGE DRIVING GROUP (RDA) Charity no. 1180584 I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31st March 2023 which are set out on the preceeding page.
Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and of the examiner.
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Act
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement.
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiner's Statement.
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect, the requirements: a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
