Names of Trustees

Mrs. Gillian Fallon (chair) Mrs. Anne Oliver (treasurer) Mrs. Maggie Lewis (secretary) Mrs. Patricia Putland Mrs. Caroline Mitchell Mrs. Leonie Brown Mrs. Patricia Gange Mrs. Anne Reeve Mr. James Oliver

Structure and management

The group is a charitable incorporated organisation and managed by the Trustees listed above. Trustees are recruited from the group’s volunteers and formally elected at the Annual General Meeting

Aims and objectives

To promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association by providing disabled people with the opportunity to carriage drive to benefit their health and well being both physically and psychologically.

Activities and objectives in the year

2020/21 was a very difficult year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All driving activity was suspended from the institution of the first national lockdown until ?? Since then we have been able to run smaller sessions for our disabled participants, limiting numbers for safety. We also followed all the guidelines issued by the national Riding for the Disabled Association regarding safety when running driving sessions.

Achievements and performance

We are pleased that we have been able to continue driving with our participants since the strictures of lockdown were lifted. For some of our participants it is the highlight of their week and offers both physical and psychological benefits. We have 13 participants who attend our twice weekly sessions and aim to drive year round, weather permitting. We have two new coaches and two more coaches in training which will help

with being able to keep sessions running should any our qualified coaches be unavailable for whatever reason.

Financial review

Like all charities the pandemic has affected our finances as for much of 2020 we had no income from our participants. The situation has now improved and we are actively pursuing fundraising opportunities. We increased our session fee to participants to reflect our increased costs and this has not impacted on attendance.

Policy on reserves: We aim to have a reserve of approximately one year’s running costs

Declaration

The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees report above.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT

TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE

WANSDYKE CARRIAGE DRIVING GROUP (RDA) Charity no. 1180584

I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31st March 2021 which are set out on the preceeding page.

Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and of the examiner.

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the Act

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act, and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement.

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent Examiner's Statement.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect, the requirements:

  2. a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and

  3. b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act

have not been met; or

  1. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
