Para 1.18 | The Group works with children with a range of disabilities and reasons for taking part. The Group provides specialist tuition, training and support for people with disabilities to ride and take part in non- riding, equestrian-related activities. Without our support, most of our participants would be unable to take part in these activities. The core purpose of the charity is to benefit the health and well-being of children with disabilities through the delivery of effective and life enhancing therapy, the opportunity to learn new skills and achieve personal goals and ambitions and the chance to enjoy taking part in a social activity that promotes general well-being. We have complied with our duty to have due regard to the commission's public benefit guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. |

Para 1.20 | We cater for young riders with a wide range of physical and mental disabilities, principally autism and cerebral palsy but also including deafness, learning disabilities, developmental delay and Down’s syndrome. There are very few opportunities in the area we serve for children with disabilities to learn to ride within a supportive, RDA- approved environment, taught by RDA qualified instructors. Due to COVID restrictions, regular and frequent trustee committee meetings took place by Zoom video link and latterly in person throughout the year. We re-started riding sessions in July 2021 following approval by RDA HQ. We started to expand our activities with a small number of Tea With a Pony sessions. |
