## **ABOUT US**

Maffkam Medicare is a community-focused charitable organisation dedicated to promoting health, wellbeing, and social inclusion among vulnerable individuals and communities across London.

Founded and funded by Mrs Mary Kamara, a retired NHS Midwife, Maffkam Medicare operates under the guidance of a committed team of professionals, including registered managers, nurses, and support workers. Together, we aim to bridge the gap between healthcare and community support through education, advocacy, and direct outreach services.

## **OUR MISSION**

Our mission is to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals by providing accessible health education, delivering direct community outreach and supporting those experiencing social or economic disadvantage. We believe that everyone deserves access to health information, essential support, and the dignity of care—regardless of their circumstances.

## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**

## **Summary of Main Achievements**

Throughout the financial year, MAFFKAM MEDICARE maintained a strong focus on grass-roots health promotion and compassionate community outreach in Hackney, London. Operating as a volunteer-driven initiative, our primary goal has been addressing health inequalities among elderly residents, vulnerable community members, and those experiencing homelessness.

## **Promoting Health & Well-being**

We successfully conducted community health awareness activities designed to equip individuals with practical health knowledge. Through advice sessions and informational outreach, we offered vital guidance on early health intervention, disease prevention, and healthy living practices. Our advocacy work helped bridge the gap between isolated community members and local health services, empowering individuals to manage their health proactively.

## **Direct Homeless & Vulnerable Outreach**

Recognising the immediate health risks associated with rough sleeping and poverty, MAFFKAM MEDICARE regularly deployed mobile outreach teams to supply food to vulnerable individuals. Beyond meeting immediate physical needs, these interactions provided a compassionate touchpoint, allowing us to offer health advice and connect individuals with local support pathways.

## **Impact & Efficiency**

Despite operating on modest financial resources, the dedication of our trustees and volunteers enabled MAFFKAM MEDICARE to deliver meaningful, cost-effective aid. Every contribution directly translated into tangible relief and health guidance for those who need it most.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**

Financial Position

Total Gross Income: £6,939

Total Expenditure: £8,917

Reserves Policy: MAFFKAM MEDICARE maintains a modest financial reserve to cover essential administrative expenses and ongoing operational support for outreach activities.

Principal Funding Sources: Funding during the year was derived primarily from trustee contributions.

## **PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS**

## **Consolidating and Scaling Operations at Bootstrap (Dalston, Hackney)**

Maintain our core delivery presence at the Bootstrap location in Hackney, expanding capacity to offer more regular health advice clinics, advocacy sessions, and community support drop-ins to meet growing local demand.

## **Geographic Expansion into Bexleyheath & Greenwich**

Extend our essential food outreach services into the boroughs of Greenwich and Bexleyheath to address worsening food insecurity and support vulnerable families, elderly residents, and individuals experiencing hardship in these areas.

## **Strengthening Partnerships & Local Networks**

Establish formal referral links with community hubs, local authorities, and grassroots groups across Hackney, Bexley, and Greenwich to ensure our services complement existing local provision.

Funding Diversification & Sustainability
