## **Annual Financial Review** 

## **for the Year Ended 31[st] August 2024** 

The 2024 year was good year for the Hall. Daily bookings were ahead by a thousand, regular event bookings were down by two thousand, but the significant change was the one-off events. In 2023 we benefitted with a gift of £15,000 from Betty Bryant, so on the face of the accounts we look to be well short this year. Nevertheless, the total income of £16,686 was noticeably up on previous years and we were lucky to have the funds available to address the kitchen floor replacement without special fund-raising. 

We have made some major maintenance expenditures in 2024. The principal one being the unexpected replacement of the rotten kitchen floor costing over £10,000 , the refurbishment of the canvas external seats which cost over £6,000 and the installation of insulated doors and thermal fans which cost over £5,000. We are due to receive 50% of this last sum back from the council. 

The new seats would have cost significantly more if we had bought them rather than renewing those which we already owned and thanks are due to the volunteers who did the work. There is still a plan to fit solar panels to the hall but planning consent has not yet been forthcoming so this may be delayed. 

We finished the year with over £30,076 in the bank and look forward to 2024/25
