# **2023 ANNUAL ACCOUNTS**
## **Annual Financial Review**
## **for the Year Ended 31[st] August 2023**
2022/23 was the first “normal year” in the last 3 years. Income recovered and costs remained under control. The regular events of Open Gardens, Marathon and Duck Race all performed exceptionally well with both numbers up and income increased. General Lettings again became popular with Pilates and Band Practice being the main contributors at £1,700 and £450. Yoga ended during the year but its contribution was replaced by new post-COVID events such as the weekly coffee morning and the one off exhibition of historic village photographs.
Costs were kept withing the range of last year with the exception being in both heating and lighting which increased markedly from £2,000 to over £4,000 in the year. Also this year a charge of £1,800 was incurred for Woodworm Proofing the stage and floor in addition to a number of small maintenance works which were needed.
The major event of the year was the receipt of a donation of £15,000 from the estate of Betty Bryant, a previous chair of the committee for over 20 years. The committee are debating how to spend the funds.
The COVID grants given by Dorset Council have now ceased.
We finish the year with over £49,260 in the bank and look forward to 2023/24
