The Parochial Church Coundl ts a Corporate l)ody ests￿$hed by Ihe Church of England. The
PCC operat85 under Ihe Parochial Church Council Powers Measure. The PCC wa8 registered
Ythth the chaTty cowffnt8sion on 5 November 2018. under charity number 1180563.
Thg appolntment of PCC members Is gov8rned by and set oul in thts Church Representation
Rules.
The PCC is made up ol elected ntsmbers. Elected Thmbers are elected by the Annual
Parochial Church Meellng, and serve for 8 lerm of 3 years. Eleded members are eliglble for
re-election, but may only seprfe for a maximum 012 tems Wb succe8sk)n. Other ¢hurch members
may be co-opted to the PCC primarity to covef particular aieas of expertlso thal ale deemed

necessary for the fvncllonhlg of the PCC 8.9. Flnance, Pren*ses.
PCC members are wovKled with guklan¢o on the rde of Intstee8. In addltlon. PCC Nlembers
rec&tve a documènt detalling their responsibilties as men*)ers of the PCC and ￿ceIve ongoing
guidance as necessary. The frequency of PCC meetings is Cufrnntty 9 limès a year whera the
PCC oversees the strategic directton of the Parish and approves policy and budgets. The

The PCC reports that it ha$ given ¢onslderallon to the rfsks faced by the chur¢hes. The major
risks that the churches are exposed to relats to people, including safeguardino of chlldren and
Vulnerab￿ adults. The PCC has formal controls in place, working with the Diocese of Guildford,
to manage these risks. Olher main risks relate to financ+al matter8, compliance with legal and
slatutory requlremonls and the acliviknes ol the paflsh. Th8 PCC has policies and procedures In
place to manage all these Tisks.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Flnan¢lal posltlon
Tho parish was formed on 1 July 2018 from the Parlsh of St Pauf8 Nort and part of tha Parish
of Sl Paufs Howell Hlll with St Marfs Burgh Heath. As a resutt. the new parish has been
blessed with reserv8$ inherited from each of its two ¢onstiluent churches. The lotallty and
make up of th08e reseNes can be lound in the detail of the accwnts outlined In th1$ report. The
PCC'S gccounts comprlse a number ol funds - the Geneial Fund and other 8pe¢lfi¢ funds
relating to partlcular activilles.
Fund8
The General Fund produced an owal defth for the yeai of £41,849.06 (2023, £49.979).
During the year £4862 (2023 £4651.98> has been given lo our 8 parish mlsslon partners, The
PCC aoreed at the slart of 2022 that for the 3 years of having David Packh￿ as our Curate.
the 10% of missional giving in the parish would be splll bets¥een the misslon parlners (S%) and
local Mis￿0n In the parish {5%).
The Restrtcted Funds produced an oveiall defiul for the year of nil (2023 £nll). Inco￿ in the
period, including Lqx refund8. amounted lo £168,002.26 (2023 £154,676). The PCC allocate8
yearly a fvnd of £1000 lo be spenl as the VJ¢arfs Discretionary fund, though this has been
reduced lo £600 for 2025,
The balance on the General Fund al the end of 2024 arrnunled to £108.928.40 (2023:
£149.703).

The three paid staff members of the parish are the WKar, Revd Alex Slevens, the Curate, Revd
Oavid Packham and the Operatlons Manager. CahilL There are also Ilyo clèaners who
are paid by Ihe parish monthty.

Michelle Cahbll took up her post on 6th April 2021. She is paKI by the parish. Includlng Nl and
pension contributions.

Our Parfsh Mi8slon Policy slates that mission partner & gmng be reviewed every fv40 years by
PCC (hence the review at the end of 2023) and every four years by the whol8 church family.
This means that OUF mission partners will be up for review at the end of 2025. However Ihls
may b8 poslponed until the affival ol a new v￿ar if the parK8h is still In vacancy at thls time.
The remaining 5V/o (lo make up 1￿￿ of giving recewed lo Ihe parish being spent on mission)
was put lowards local mission in the parish, due lo the privilege of havlng a curate for 3 years.
Messy Church.. has beèn running at Sl. Marfs since 2014, now in its ninth yaar of being part
of th8 Sunday morrting servlce.
Communlty Allve: the contemporary fanNly sep4ice. runs once a month (on the 2nd Sunday)
at St. Paul's, at 9 am
Forest Church.. a f￿sh expression. runs On￿ a month. exopt in the wlnter (on the fourth
Sunday) In the SL Pauf8'Backlands' (behind th8 church hall), at 3pm.
Wholo P4rf$h Servleo•: occur each mnth. on the fourth Sunday of the month. at 10 am, with
some additional whole parish semces for special occasions or seasons. Both churches pau8e
thelr usual seryices for this week and enjoy belng a3 one lamity all together.

10: Is a monthly Saturday coffee momwig open to all. It seeks lo support the local
community and is well attended by them.
Llttlo Roots: Our Pafish Tojdler Group. 'Little Roots, funs on Tuesday arKI Wednesday
mornings every week in t8rm time, from 9-11 am.

Craft Momlngs: Are run apwoxwnaw half-lemty for chldren & families in the lo¢al area.
where they can come and work on crafts and receive refroshments.
Prayar Meetlngs.. We hokl prayer meetings and pray6T events regularly In bolh chur¢hes.
There Is a St. Maws prayer group vtho nket on Monday nx)rnings for pastoral prayer support
of merrtjers of th8 church famity.
Conmct groups.. Several conne¢1 groups in the parish. elther weekty or fortnlghtly.
Cours￿. During 2024 we raTr Christianity Explored and a Lenl courne in ttbe p8ri8h.
Nur•lng Hom08.' fvlonthty servlces were run at Fil Tree House. Monlclalr and Banstead Manor
Nursing homes and Alex and olhers vlsited for pastoral and other meetings at addit*)nal Ilmes.
Bible sludtes serle8 have also been run tvite at Banstead Manor duflng 2D24.
Schools: Llnks wilh tho Warren Mead 8chools and Aberdour School have continued, Aberdour
school children also attending Sl. Mary's for an Eastei Experience momin9. Alex continue$ lo
be one of the Goveining Body members for both V*drTen Mead Infant and Junior schools.
Ch#rltle$.' Monthly food bank ¢olte¢tlons have been an Smportanl part of 2024, supporting the
Epsom & Ewell food bank and the parish ¢oUectod 102 boxes for Operation Chrislmas Child in
Novernber.
Banstoad Ffv•.' The Parish of Norf( with Burgh Heath is a member of the Banstead Five, a
group of local churches seeking to serve the area of Banstead together. SYKe September 2023.
Alex ha8 been Chalr of this group.
