Achievements and Performance
April 2022
Ramadhan 2022 saw the successful execution of several impactful projects, each contributing to the welfare of the community. These initiatives included Sewing for Success, aimed at empowering individuals through skill development, the Rickshaw project providing sustainable solutions, a Cakes project raising money for a hospital. Water Appeal ensuring access to clean water, Blood Pressure screenings for healthcare awareness, support for an orphanage through the Sustain an Orphanage project, a Housing Project addressing shelter needs, and the distribution of Food parcels to alleviate hunger. Together, these endeavours exemplified the spirit of compassion and generosity during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Sewing machine
This year, we continued our impactful Sewing Machine Project, which proved to be a success once again. Through this initiative, we were able to gift sewing machines to vulnerable individuals across Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. By empowering them with the means to start their own tailoring business, we aimed to enable them to

themselves out of poverty. This endeavour exemplifies our commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering economic empowerment within the communities we serve.
4
Rickshaw Project
The Rickshaw project has been established with the purpose of enabling individuals to establish a reliable source of
income. By providing a means to make a living, we seek to support them in achieving a more self-reliant and independent lifestyle within their local environment & assist them to lift themselves out of poverty. This endeavour embodies our commitment to fostering economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Cakes
This year, our "Cakes" campaign was dedicated to delivering delicious Double Chocolate Fudge Cakes during the holy month of Ramadan. Our goal was to bring these delightful treats to people's doors, allowing them to enjoy them during the blessed month of Ramadan. This initiative was carried out during a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and engage in generous acts of charity, adding a touch of joy and sweetness to this significant period.
5
Water projects
The provision of access to clean water is vital and fundamental to ensuring the basic human right of all individuals. It brings ongoing benefits to numerous children, families, and elders in impoverished communities. Clean water plays a critical role in changing and saving
lives by preventing illnesses and reducing loss of life. This year, we were able to make a difference by aiding in the construction of water boreholes in Malawi and water pumps in Pakistan. These projects have extended the privilege and life-changing
benefits of clean drinking water to families in some of the most underprivileged communities in these regions, making a positive impact on their well-being.
Blood Pressure machines
With a donation of £20 this Ramadan, we provided blood pressure machines to individuals in South Asia who are unable to afford them. Our goal is to contribute to saving lives by ensuring that individuals have access to essential healthcare monitoring equipment. This initiative aims to address the critical need for regular blood pressure monitoring, particularly in
regions where access to medical resources can be limited. Through this endeavour, we seek to make a tangible impact on the health and well-being of individuals in South Asia.
6
Sustain An orphanage Project.
The Sustain an Orphanage campaign is a meaningful initiative aimed at providing essential support to orphanages. Many young children have tragically lost their parents and found themselves alone through no fault of their own. Our campaign focuses on identifying and assisting these vulnerable children in Pakistan, Palestine, and various parts of the world. By sustaining orphanages, we aim to create a nurturing environment for these children, offering them care, support, and a sense of belonging, thus positively impacting their lives during challenging times.
Housing project
Shelter, along with food and water, is a fundamental necessity for leading a simple life. However, millions of
people around the world still lack this basic essential. In the rural areas of Pakistan, nearly 80% of the impoverished population resides in conditions of acute poverty, with rudimentary housing and inadequate shelter. Across South Asia, which is one of the most densely populated regions globally, a significant majority of the poor in countries such
as Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka continue to live below the poverty line. Often, these communities do not have the financial means to construct even makeshift, temporary shelters.
7
Food parcels
Hunger continues to be one of the most pervasive yet solvable challenges in the contemporary world. With a contribution as modest as £20, we were able to provide a family with Iftar provisions. Your generous support for this program has a profound impact on the lives of numerous vulnerable individuals worldwide. Your contribution plays a significant role in addressing food insecurity and ensuring that families have access to essential provisions, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Fitrana
Your Fitrana was distributed in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India & West Africa to the neediest & vulnerable.
8
Madrasah Tournament
The Akhirah Team partnered with the Nanu Sports Foundation to host Leeds’s inaugural Madrasah/Masjid Football Tournament at the Five Soccer Centre, Leeds.
The event's proceeds were dedicated to constructing a Girls Madrasah in Bangladesh. Witnessing the entire community rallying together to support this wonderful initiative was truly heartening.
Food Distribution
Hunger remains one of the most significant and resolvable issues globally. Sadly, many individuals face daily challenges, grappling with the uncertainty of where their next meal will come from. Every day becomes a struggle.
meal have aid effects also
Our Food Distribution programs gained heightened importance, especially now, as they serve to people in combating the harsh of hunger and malnutrition, while protecting them from life-threatening diseases. Across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Gambia, and Afghanistan, we've dedicated ourselves tirelessly to this cause.
These impoverished communities lack the means to afford even the most basic sustenance, often enduring days without a proper meal. Our Food Distribution program aims to tackle food insecurity and alleviate hunger using a blend of shortterm relief and sustainable, long-term interventions.
9
Monthly Sadaqah Project
Our Monthly Sadaqah Jariyah Project (MSP) has flourished over the last 12 months, allowing us to extend support to more causes than ever before. The generosity of our donors has been pivotal, offering vital assistance to those living in poverty, ensuring their support continues. Even a contribution
as small as £1 to this project creates a substantial impact for those less fortunate. The MSP's success has kept the Akhirah Team deeply engaged, and we are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support. Without this generosity, none of our projects would have materialized.
Our endeavours spanned various regions, including the Middle East, West Africa, and South Asia. Projects such as feeding programs in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, establishing essential water pumps in Pakistan, and renovating and supplying carpets to madrasahs/masjids in Gambia were made possible by your donations.
Qurbani
The Akhirah Team successfully completed your Qurbani in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Rwanda & Malawi. Thanks to your donations your qurbani fed many families in need. We thank you for your continued support.
10
Bangladesh Flood Appeal
The recent heavy monsoon rains in Bangladesh had resulted in the worst floods the country has experienced in a generation. The overflowing rivers have left approximately 500,000 people stranded in northeast Bangladesh, with many families facing the imminent risk of running out of food within days.
To address this critical situation, numerous events such as BBQs, 10k runs, and days of giving by businesses were organized to raise funds for the affected communities.
- June 2022 Afghanistan Earthquake Appeal
The Akhirah Team's Afghanistan appeal has indeed achieved remarkable success in addressing the aftermath of the
devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in early October, near the city of Herat. Tragically, these earthquakes claimed the lives of over 2,000 individuals. In response, our team swiftly acted by distributing winter packs containing warm blankets, medical and essential food items. These packs were specifically tailored to assist the most vulnerable and impoverished families in coping with the difficult circumstances they faced.
11
The Akhirah Team Charity Cup Football Tournament.
The Akhirah Team joyfully announced the inaugural Leeds Charities Football Tournament held in Leeds.
Six charities—The Barakah Team, Hope Welfare Trust, Team Safar, Give A Gift, Peace Matters, and The Akhirah Team—joined forces to raise funds for the flood victims in Bangladesh.
Every contribution made on that day was dedicated to The Bangladesh Flood campaign. Witnessing the entire community come together to support this fantastic initiative was truly heart-warming.
– Widow support project 30 families with food parcels
Thanks to the immense generosity of our donors, we've initiated the Widow Support Program in Nartopa Attock, Pakistan. This program aims to provide free food parcels to over 30 of the most vulnerable families in the area.
12
Pakistan Flood Appeal launched.
The recent devastating flooding in Pakistan marked one of the worst in decades, submerging one-third of the country. Flash floods caused immense destruction, wiping away roads, homes, and crops, leaving a path of devastation across Pakistan. The death toll exceeded 1000, and the impact affected over 30 million people.
In response, the Akhirah Team organized various fundraising events and collections aimed at aiding those affected. These efforts included charity dinners, BBQs, mosque collections,
car washes, and selling sweets to gather funds for support and relief.
Pakistan Deployment
Anwar Aziz, Naheem Yacub, Azmat Khan & Moulana Amir Khan were on the ground to witness the devastation first hand and ensure that your donations reach those most in need. Their
schedule includes visits to Attock, Swat valley, Rajunpoor, & Punjab to distribute donated food packs and vital medical supplies.
13
Winter Appeal: Bangladesh, Pakistan & Afghanistan
The Akhirah Team's winter appeal achieved remarkable success yet again. Across Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, we distributed winter packs comprising warm blankets and essential food items. These packs were aimed at assisting the most impoverished families in coping with the harsh winter months.
Bangladesh Deployment
In January, the core team members made a visit to Bangladesh. The Akhirah Team diligently ensured
that your donations made a significant impact during their time in the country.
Their deployment encompassed diverse initiatives ranging from sustainable, educational, and medical projects to successful feeding programs.
During their presence in the Sylhet district of Bangladesh, the team distributed rickshaws and sewing machines as part of our self-sustaining campaign. Additionally, blankets were distributed to aid the homeless, while the feeding program continued to provide crucial support.
14
Turkey/Syria Campaign Launched
The devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake tragically took the lives of nearly 40,000 individuals, leaving thousands more with life-altering injuries and in a state of absolute destitution. In response, the Akhirah Team initiated the Turkey & Syria Earthquake campaign, aiming to raise crucial aid for those affected in the disaster zones.
Numerous fundraising and collection events were organized as part of this effort to extend support to those deeply impacted by the earthquake.
