The Friends of Gladstone Park also organise a ¥%Eekly Gardening Grwp consisling of regular volunteers undertake vaiious tasks to maintain and improve the park- in particular the walled garden arKI the copse area. Achievements and Performance All Friends of Gladstone Park activitses have an underlying purpose of encouraglng people into the park to enjoy and benefft from thls beautifvl public space. The Gardening Group continued to maintsin the Walled Garden in Gladstone Park along with the formal rose beds outside (now refreshed the roses purchased by FOGP). In addition to the Walled Garden, beds around the upper terrace adjacent to the Walled Garden were maintained. as 11 as the beds around N*iat Yds the b0ing green. Amhough still a part of the Gardening Gn)up, the volunteers bthing in the copse effectively became a discrete 'Copse Group. meeting on Fridays while the Gardening Group continues to meet on Mondays and Wednesdays allowing those vtho wish to be part of both groups. Additionally, FOGP commenced the process of having the copse dassified as a Local Nature Reserve in order to recognise the area and to ensure a plan for its future alongside Brent Council. The group of people who monitor buttefflies continue to do so and reojrd data. FC 2024 we had a complete data set- Ihat is we recorded an entry for every week of the period from the beginning of April to the end of September. In January 2024 hosted our first postQ>vid public meeling there we enabled the locaE community to meet the manager of the new contractors lo maintain GladstCe Pa. and their Safer Neighbourhoods team from the IoGal Pdice Force and ask questions and raise issues. A further public meeting in April allowed the communty to meet and question officers from Brent Counal responsible for Gladstone Park
Financial Review At the end of this perii)d we have £3.060.13 in the account, Mthich is a healuiy amount for us and a tribute to the generous users of Gladstone Park who drop donations into our bucket. Only a small amount remains ring-fenced - fLY bluebells. The charity does not hdd reseprfes as there are no regular outgoings over and above the annual public liabifity insurance premium and lte costs.
