During this perK)d the Friends of Gladstone Pa* have supwrted these obiectNes with Ihe
adivtties below. Many adivities during this period have been curtailed or cancelled due to
Covid restrictions but as most of our ac*ivitEs are outside ￿ have been fortunate enough to
corrtinue in a limited caFé(*.

building had to be cancelled due lo Covid restrictions.
Various guided vralls through the paths led by an expert. This year there were walks
with a ftxus on trees. birds, bats and butterfks although fewer than usua and wtth
strid controls on numbeTr.

Organising regular Litter Picks in the ￿￿k ￿th members of the pU￿c.
The Fiiends crf Park also organise a ¥￿eklY Gardening Group consisting of

particular the walw garden and the ￿>PSe area. This working group continued througho
arthough wilh social distancing ba'ng observed, aml any ￿mmon tools being sanrtised
before and after use.
All trustees have SWJM of the Ch*ty Commissk)n's gum18n￿ ￿ wbk benefrt, to make
sure this is taken into accr￿nt during d8xsK1￿nak1ng.

Achievements and Perforniance
All Friends of Gladstone Park activities have an undorfying purpose of encouraging
people into the park to onjoy and ￿nefit this boautAfvI publi¢ space.
The hedge alongside the rail line has been maintained through furthef communrty events
and is thriving. Visualty, it (*ar that birds and buttefflies arKI other insects are finding rt
attractive. Additi"onally, the remaining grant money from Tesco has been used to purchase
further h&Jging plants *tiich have forn￿ a along the <knef side d the railway.
While vK)rking on the rose beds adjxent to the walled garden vfithin the park. it was deaf
that some gaps h&J opened up in these Ws due to the death over b'me of various of the
rose bushes. FOGP gained agreement from Brent Counol and Veolia (who are contr&ted to
maintain the parks) to organise refurbishing these rosebeds. Fundraising brought a fantastic
restM)nse V￿ were abte to purchase and plant all necessary rose bus￿ to refresh
these beds. Unfortunatety. the unveiling of a rAaque to ￿lebrate this. and a tea for
volunteers and donors ai the Town Hall. to be cancelled due to Covid restiictions bLrt
hope something may ￿11 be organised On￿ these are lrfted.
FOGP hosted a'memories Dal to invite local pewe to share their memofies and
associations with Gladstone Park. This was p5anned as gathering infomalion towards
possible film or video presentation to contribute to 8rent's Borough of Culture activrties.
However. this VRS also a v￿lM of Covid but rt was a lovely aftern(M)n wrth some fascinating
wartime memries being shared.
In an effort to reduce the amunt of litter left in the park a member of the committee. a local
artist. deS￿ned an attractive sticker to be ￿ on litter bins asking people not to pile up
litter next to the bins rf they are full. but to take rt home to prevent foxes etc tearing open the
bags and spreading the contents. The design was approv￿ by Brent coun￿ and a number
of the trustees funded the printing of the stickers ￿ttICh have been pEaced on the bins in the
park.

All fundrasing coffee momings. table days etc. haj to be Can￿led, as we amed these for
wamier weather. In Ofdef to get some inc£Kne, the Gardening Gn)up sds out a bucket for
donations whilst working armd this has meant we Can Cover cosis.

Financial Review
At the end of this perThl we have £632.45 in the ac￿unt. which is a healthy amcmjnt for us
and a tribute to the generous usef5 of Gladstone Park who drop donations into our bucket.
Only a small am(xJnt remains rinkfenwl - for bluebells.
Ftiends of Gladstone Park also registered with Amazon Smile and Easylundraising during
Ihis penod, to hdp tA)OSt inc£)me during a drfficull time.
The charity does not hold reserves &8 the￿ are no regular outgoings over and alxjve the
annual publi¢ liabilty insurance premium.
