Trustees Annual Report
The trustees present their fourth annual report for the Chilton Foliat Community Association for the year ended 30[th] September 2022.
Chilton Foliat Community Association was constituted in November 2018, and this report covers its fourth year of operation as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation and the only voting members are its charity trustees).
The charity was created to benefit the community of Chilton Foliat and the wider area by:
-
Advancing education and providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation
-
To establish a community centre and maintain and manage it (alone or in partnership with others)
-
To support/promote/fundraise for other charitable purposes within the area
In previous years the trustees have worked closely with the local community to raise funds for the charity’s first initiative; building The Community Clubhouse, to benefit both the community and the school. This exciting project was completed and officially opened in January 2020.
The objects of the charity continue to be met by offering:
-
A venue for the provision of a breakfast club and an after-school club, essential to support working parents across the community
-
A venue for the re-introduction of Chilton Chicks, a toddler group that meets every Monday morning in term time providing much-needed socialising for young families/carers and their young children
-
A venue to host a number of community group initiatives, including messy church, and a location for meetings, wreath-making etc.
-
Occasional use by the school for assessments, exams and other educational uses
-
Fundraising for other local causes (Friends of Chilton Foliat Primary School and Chilton Chicks)
Point to note:
- In March 2022, Chilton Foliat Community Association was awarded a grant from the Marlborough Area Board for a total of £2,500.00 to build a shed structure to hold toys and supplies for the Chilton Chicks toddler group that is based at the Community Clubhouse. These funds are ringfenced for this project.
At the end of the financial year reserves of £12,823.31 were held.
The trustees are grateful to those who support Chilton Foliat Community Association with ideas, time, and energy to enable our charity to benefit our community.
