## **2. Structure, Governance and Management** 

Spark of Hope is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by its trustees, who are responsible for overseeing the charity’s activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 

## **3. Objectives and Activities** 

The objects of the charity are the prevention or relief of poverty. Spark of Hope was established to: 

- Make food available for underprivileged children and their families 

- Support struggling institutional orphanages to become stable, loving, and nurturing homes 

- Establish healthcare and education programmes to support children and their families 

- Train women to provide care within the community 

During the financial year, the charity continued to operate at a very modest level, with limited activity due to funding constraints. 



## **4. Achievements and Performance** 

During the year, the charity maintained essential administrative operations and compliance. Although activity levels remained low, trustees continued to explore opportunities to strengthen the charity’s financial position and support future charitable delivery. 

## **5. Financial Review** 

During the year ended 28 February 2025: 

- Total income amounted to £110 

- Total expenditure amounted to £60, relating to administrative costs 

- The charity recorded a surplus of £50 for the year 

The surplus increased the charity’s reserves. 

At the year end, the charity held total funds of £152. 

## **6. Reserves Policy** 

The charity holds modest reserves to meet basic administrative costs and to provide a foundation for future charitable activities. Trustees continue to monitor reserves carefully. 

## **7. Public Benefit Statement** 

The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and confirm that the charity’s objectives and activities are carried out for the public benefit. 

## **8. Plans for the Future** 

The trustees aim to build on the improved financial position by focusing on fundraising and partnerships, with the intention of increasing charitable activities in line with the charity’s objectives. 

## **9. Trustees’ Responsibilities** 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and the Charities Act 2011.

## 1. **Basis of preparation** 

The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and Charity Commission guidance for charities with income under £25,000. 

2. **Income** 

Income during the year consisted of small donations. 

## 3. **Expenditure** 

Expenditure during the year related solely to administrative costs. 

4. **Trustee remuneration and expenses** No trustees received remuneration, and no trustee expenses were reimbursed during the year.
