Spark of Hope is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by its trustees, who are responsible for overseeing the charity’s activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

## **3. Objectives and Activities**

The objects of the charity are the prevention or relief of poverty. Spark of Hope was established to:

- Make food available for underprivileged children and their families

- Support struggling institutional orphanages to become stable, loving, and nurturing homes

- Establish healthcare and education programmes to support children and their families

- Train women to provide care within the community

During the financial year, the charity continued to have very limited activity and remained largely dormant due to low levels of funding.

## **4. Achievements and Performance**

Due to limited income during the year, the charity undertook minimal charitable activity. Trustees focused on maintaining essential administrative functions and compliance, while seeking opportunities for future funding and programme delivery.

## **5. Financial Review**

During the year ended 28 February 2023:

- Total income amounted to £170

- Total expenditure amounted to £220, relating to administrative costs

- The charity recorded a deficit of £50 for the year

The deficit was met from reserves brought forward from the previous year.

At the year end, the charity held total funds of £142.

## **6. Reserves Policy**

The charity maintains modest reserves to meet basic administrative costs. The trustees keep the reserves position under review, particularly given the low level of income.

## **7. Public Benefit Statement**

The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and confirm that the charity’s objectives and activities are carried out for the public benefit.

## **8. Plans for the Future**

The trustees plan to focus on fundraising and partnership opportunities in order to increase income and enable the charity to resume and expand activities aligned with its charitable objectives.
