eperates as a passionate, volvnteer-run repDsltory of Dur local history.
Here Is what the Hull Flshlng Herltage Centre provides for the communlty of Hull:
CotHmemoration and Remembrance..
The centre preserves the memorles of the 6,000 men who salled from Hull and never returned, often collaboratlng on
projects like street murals, memorlal benches, the Bethel Boards on Hessle Road. And the Last Trip memorial in Zebedees
yard of the former Trinty House. The Cent￿ holds memorlal days to remember'The Triple Trawler Tragedy, and the great
loss of th¢ Gaul. Each year the centre organlzes a trip to South Shields to remember the 6 crew from the area who sailed
on the 111.fated trawler The Gaul.
Archlvlng and Family Hlstory..
The centre maintain5 a vast, invaluable research catalogue, the only one of Its klnd In England, wlth over 80,000 photos
and personal Sea records, helpln9 vlsllors research thelr ancestor5 and discover thelr deep famlly tles wlth the flshlng
Indusrry. The research complled by our Chalrman Jerry Thornpson reunltes lamllles wlth loved ones lost, some who only
have a memory rold to them who can new put a face, a tlme and a place and hold a photograph Of the fadlng memory. We

awarded the 'Warm Spaco, grant and have helped many vlsltors by provlding them wlth warm clothlng and a Ilght
refreshments,

By focuslng on ￿Ul1.5 flshlng Industry legacy, rhe centre reaches out to schools, colleges, care homes and other Institutlons
glvlng talks and displaying trawler models. School chlldren vlslt the centre and learn amongst other thlngs the sklll of mtsrse
code. It ensures the storles of Hull's flshlng communlty are n¢ver forgotten.
As a well.known Ipcal In5tltutloth, Ihe Hull Flshlng Herltage Centre, a charlty run by volunteers, not only preserves artlfacts
bul also strengthens the $oclal fabrlc ol the communlty. It keeps the proud tradltlons of Hull's f15hlng herliage allve,

see the unrpstricted funds not committed or Invested in tangible fixed assets I'the free r@serves'l held by the charity to be

The level of reserves ¢5 monitored on a monthly cycle by the trustee body to ensure that the charity works conslstently
towards thls outcome in the current challenglng fundlng envlronment.
