## Annual report and return: April 2024 - April 2025 

Activity for the year 2024 - 25 has been muted. Due to the death of our former Chair, Jackie Westrop, from cancer in February 2025 much of the trustees’ time has been occupied with applying for a new bank account and attendant administrative duties. 

One committee meeting was held at which it was decided that the vacant position of chair would be taken by trustees on a rotational basis. The first meeting post-Jackie was chaired by Christine Pike. At this meeting it was agreed to pledge a £300 grant towards a film and talk event, “All Of Us Witches”, to be held in October 2025 as part of this year’s Fear in the Fens Festival, with which Downham Market Arts is closely allied. 

It was also agreed to apply for funding from the Norfolk County Council’s “Love Your Market Town” fund. The outcome of this application will be known in September 2025. 

## **INCOME** 

A one-off grant of £748 was received from Three-Legged-Arts to carry out our charitable activities, with no restrictions. 

## **EXPENDITURE** 

A £300 grant has been pledged (although not yet spent) towards an event as part of the annual Fear in the Fens Film Festival 2025. 

## **CASH** 

The charity has sufficient funding in hand to deliver a programme of activities in 2025 - 26 

## **FUTURE** 

We anticipate the receipt of a Love Your Market Town grant which will enable us to deliver an ambitious programme of activities and events for King’s Lynn in October 2026. We are planning to bring back our annual Christmas theatre event for 2025.

Downham Market Arts is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registration number 1180470, which was founded on the 29[th of] October 2018. 

## **OBJECTIVES and AIMS.** 

Downham Market Arts Association was founded for the promotion of the arts for the public benefit in Downham market and the surrounding area, by organising and presenting a wide range of events to facilitate artistic activity; to include dance, drama, literature, music, and the visual arts. 

## **ACHIEVMENT and PERFORMANCE** 

The Association provides a range of performances inclusive of dance storytelling and therapeutic arts. 



## **STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE and MANAGEMNT** 

- 1.) The charity is governed by a CIO foundation document dated the 29[th of] October 2018. 

- 2.) The governance of the charity as well as its day-to-day management is undertaken by the charity trustees.
