## **Langley Islamic Centre Annual Report 2021/22**

Mr Javaid Sultan currently has the role of chairperson of the Langley Islamic Centre; as such he has prepared this trustees report. 

Langley Islamic Centre has (3) three objectives as part of our constitution: 

**(a) Build a community centre for daily activities such as prayer, medical awareness, teaching and learning of the Islamic faith for ladies, men and children.** 

1. Langley Islamic Centre has serviced an inclusive provision of Friday prayer and different activates during the year that has enhanced the spiritual development of the Islamic faith into a multi-generation and multi-ethnic community. In 2021-22 we had an average weekly attendance of 105 people who took part in our Friday sessions (approximately 75 adults and 30 kids) 

2. Community workdone for all muslims & non muslims which includes free food and medicines for those who needed them. 

## **(b) Providing Education** 

1. Basic Islamic education is provided to women on a monthly basis focusing on engagement with community and allowing them to learn new things based on the Islamic faith. 

2. Quran sessions that take place on a weekly basis for young children and adults. 

## **(c) Social Activities and Charity Events**

3. **Education sessions** : for children during school holidays: scholars were invited who gave speeches to the younger Muslim generation highlighting basic beliefs on how to be better Muslims on Audio Messages or live on social media. 

4. **Fund raising:** weekly charity collection and Ramadan charity events took place. Overall Langley Islamic Centre raised £24,042. The aim of our fund raising events is to build a community centre, provide help for orphans, widows and poor people. 

5. **Minutes Meetings:** Monthly meetings with volunteers were arranged in order to enhance our services and weekly reports. Recent weekly reports include: property search for our permanent premises and ways to make our project aim a success. 

## **Finances:** 

The trustees of Langley Islamic centre are responsible for day to day management are required to receive formally the end of year financial statement that has been independently examined by an accountant not linked with the management trustees. A copy of the final accounts is attached at the end of this report. 

Summary of the accounts are below: Income – £24,049 Outgoings - £6,031

2021-22 has again been a challenging year for everyone as the country was still not fully recovered from COVID19.
